Just had my first session at the gym.Got a routine and a diet, lol, how will I eat so much food and how nasty does whey protein powder taste?

depending on the brand of protein, some taste really good, i use the EAS double dutch chocolate. Tastes almost like a wendys frosty. Eat in many small meals, like fruit and wholes grains, and make sure u drink alot of water(sure the trainers told u this already). So good luck and let us know how you are doing.

You become a weightlifter when you grunt, groan and throw the weights down because they're too heavy in the first place. Take it slow and enjoy your workouts.

That's a good plan, at least you can trust your trainer b/c he/she obviously knows what's going on. What I can't stand are the people (esp women) who work out and then don't eat enough (esp protein) thinking they will lose weight faster. Then they can't figure out why they aren't getting the body they want. They just end up burning away all their muscle (sure along with some fat too but still), and having more muscle means you burn more calories in a resting state and will look much more toned. And if you don't eat enough your body will slow itself down b/c it will go into survival mode.

Anyway, enough of me going on my little tangant here. Good luck and have fun at the gym this January with all of the New Year's resolution people, don't worry, by March the gyms are empty again 😉

optimum nutrition is the "whey" to go, tastes awesome, best place to order from is www.1fast400.com the owner Mike is awesome he offers great prices and the shipping is the best in the biz. You can even im him, My65cuda using aim/aol. Oh yeah, good luck on working out.

there is this stuff called "any whey protein" (i think)... you can see an ad for it in most fitness magazines. i like muscle and fitness her and oxygen, i find they are for people that are really serious about having a healthy lifestyle. (ps: the recipes are soooo yummy in them too)

in the ad it suggests adding it to stuff like tuna or juice or anything you want. i've never tried it but according to the ad it doesn't have a bad taste.

Moo juice and red meat, it's the only protien I ever need 😛

I'm ok with drinking some milk and he told me to have steak x2 per week but the plan is to get me started on this diet and a basic routine, then in a couple weeks he's going to drop my reps and up the weight. He says the whey powder packs the massive amounts of protein help that I'm going to need to grow some muscle.I just hope all this helps me sleep better at night🙂

100% Whey Double Dutch Chocolate is the best tasting low carb/fat protein available, it has digestive enzymes and tryptophan to combat the lower seritonin release you get from a high protein diet.

Be careful with the protein GeekBabe, you've been on a diet for quite some time if I remember correctly and if you mix whey with carbs you'll get fat as hell REAL quick. This is coming from the guy who lost 150 pounds remember.

The absolute best diet for weightlifting out there while keeping trim is low carb/fat whey powders+cooked low glycemic index vegitables+lean meats with a cheat meal once a week.

(you need the cheat meal, replaces glycogen stores)

I do not intend to get fat again!!! In fact it's going to be hard for me to eat all of the food he's set down for my meal plan. For carbs,it's potato or brown rice or real whole grain breads, complex carbs
built around my activity level. The diet is actually not far off from how I eat now, there's just a lot more of it.

What felt good is that tonight by the time dinner was ready,I was genuinely starved to the bone style hungry.I haven't felt that way in quite awhile.

Congrats - you're definitely on your way to feeling better. While whey protein may not taste like heaven, it definitely helps. 😉 Just remember to always be strict with your diet and workout regimen and you'll see huge results. Good luck!
