I found it downright hilarious that he didn't seem to notice the .. erm .. particular exception that WinXP throws when paired with an nForce2. Thus the followup. :)

mechBgon is funny

The northbridge has two memory controllers and load-balances between them; it doesn't require a symmetrical memory layout like Intel, which creates one 128-bit memory channel out of two 64-bit ones and therefore needs matching "geometry."

heard you need to buy a legit copy of WinXP in order to run Dual-Channel, or it throws a "W4R3Z-M0NK3H" exception on bootup.

That was the only funny part of the thread, IMO.

Hmmm, I didn't find it very funny... just a loser looking for warez. If you guys couldn't guess, I detected a little sarcasm in the "I think this may just be your setup/winxp
try reinstalling it, and if oc'ed, reduce it a little. "

Dude, that fact that a newbie who doesn't know anything was tryng to tell someone what they should do is freakin hilarious. I don't know how many times I've answered questions like those on the board, but I'm gonan call it quits soon and work on more technical posts. I'm tired of repeating the same crap over and over again b/c some newbie is too damn lazy to search the boards.
