gee they got all sorts of products in this world don't they. btw how exactly does work? I know about breastfeeding but milk in a storage bag for later? Has the human race degraded itself by making women seem like cows that get milked and the milk held for later usage? here is a bump for this freebie anyhows...who knows there are probably gonna be people who will find a usage for this.

Guys, these things have been around since the 60's, and chances are that YOU were fed from breast milk stored in one.

No kidding :)

You can pick these things up at rummage sales. I've seen breast pumps and other strange baby feeding "tools" at rummage sales. The gross thing is you know somebody is going to buy that used stuff too. :Q

Heh ya idiots. The mother uses a breast-pump to collect the milk into the bag and refrigerates it till later.

If it weren't for this, she would have to feed every two hours for the first few months....you try waking up, or stopping what you're doing, every two hours based on someone else's schedule....it's hard as h*ll.

I have a friend who has a 4 month old...she used to do tri-athlons....now she barely has energy to go shopping for food.....

My two pesos....

Funny that people are uncomfortable about the idea of getting mothers milk from a bag for a baby..... but have no problem drinking cows milk as an adult from a bag, carton, plastic container!!!!!

::Listevo:: It's a shame you don't understand......

Ah yes, you all finally get to find out where my nickname comes from.

Often times the mother produces more milk than her baby can consume at a time, so she can pump and freeze the milk up to 6 months for later when she is away from the baby and the father/caretaker needs to feed the baby from a bottle.

It's not degrading to provide for your baby what no one else can.

Souka: give that woman friend of yours all the support that you can. What she is doing now is harder than any triathlon, but SO worth it.

Okay, I'll step off my soapbox now.

Most mothers I've known have used these. The reasons are pretty obvious when you think about it.

By milk "banking", Mom can run the new unit on spec'd fuel while
- infant is in someone else's care (Mom shop's while Dad's home; work; ...)
- exhausted Mother gets a night's uninterrupted sleep (partner seeing to feeding)
- tit-obsessed society makes it awkward for breast feeding

The other side of the coin is that a Mother, separated from child, may need to pump milk to be comfortable. (The clever dude who offers -their- services for this relief is likely to be a heavy consumer of Vaseline. 8) )

Fobbman: That link is dead. Is it a joke or for real? If it is for real, I am very interested in finding more about it.
