I use a VHS rewinder when I rent movies from the local movie store. A lot of the older movies the store has are still VHS (they haven't bought DVD copies), so it's all good.
 
I always see those labels "please be kind & rewind" on vhs tapes at the movie store. They should slap a few on the dvds and see how people re-act.
