my system is a slot a original athlon 750 running at 910 (107x8.5) and this thing is stable... ran it at 1007 for about a week but the rest of the componets didn't like it

It's not about Intel vs AMD.
It's about us and our gains from those manufacturers.
It's about us getting better deal from either.

AMD is beating P3 and Celeron in price and performance... and I would add overclockability.
And I would disagree that Intel is more stable than AMD. Stability is not an issue anymore. Both are stable.

AMD is still beating Intel even on P4. Although it is partial hurt. Even 1.1GMz and 1.2GMz are faster than P4 1.5Ghz.
You can easily see that in case you have them runnung through SiSoft Sandra benchmarks. Although memory performance in P4 systems are about 3 to 4 times faster.
But for now, with current software it does not give us as a users almost any benefits.

Other than that I got 2 overclocked systems which are described in my signature.

I used to run an Intel P75, but recently moved over to the Duron 700. Now I don't have a fancy web page shooting techno-babble all over the place, but in my testing the Duron blows the P75 away. So I would have to say AMD is better.
