I have two Asus 25" LCD screens and an Asus motherboard. One of the LCD screens developed a dead pixel line (an entire line of pixels is dead and suck showing yellow). The motherboard seems to have died completely. Both have a 3 year warranty which is still valid.

Except I moved to the Philippines after buying them, and even though Asus (Taiwan is only an hour away by plane afterall) has a big presence here, they refuse to honor my US warranty.

I just came across this http://support.asus.com/ServiceHome.aspx?SLanguage=en

Ship it to the US and have a friend ship it to Asus 🙂 might be cheaper just to buy a new one though, shipping aint cheap.

exactly. the cost to ship a monitor two ways across the pacific (and insurance?) is like $150

i don't understand the point of regional warranties with regards to global companies. it only serves to piss off the customer.

my Acer (budget brand) netbook has a global warranty. that shouldn't be a selling point. it should be understood. now if the company only does business in one region, then that makes sense...
