LOL AMD !!!!!!

I saw them writing this on my way home from school. the whole thing said "AMD TURION 64 MOBILITY", i guess its their new mobile chip...?

i kinda wish they would drop the "64" and just call the processor Turion. It just sounds better, IMHO.

Anyways, I think it's kinda funny, but not very effective. Considering no one in San Fran likely has any idea what the hell Turion is, I don't think it's gonna make much of a difference. AMD needs to market products that are actually available. A TV campaign coinciding with the Turion launch might work nicely.

Money spent on Skywriting $1000 or so. People who saw it 25.

People who will be talking about it on message boards like this one 2500

Actually good marketing

The 64 is there alongside all their new processors (except Sempron for now) because the processors are also 64 bit. Turion is the new name AMD is using to try and better infiltrate the mobile market, the same thing intel as done with the "Centrino" name. Now intel finally brought 64bit capabilities to their P4, but it seems as if AMD will be the first to bring 64bit to the mobile market in a form intended for the mobile market alone.

Once Windows XP x64 hits retail, that 64 in the name should help AMD a lot.
