lol...95 degrees up north and people are freaking out

In Texas thats a mild summer. Speaking of mild summers, all that cool weather is been hanging around DFW this year. It has been one of the best summers I can remember, temperature wise.

This week we've had cool 70s/80s (we should be well over 100 by now) and lots and lots of RAIN! Summer rain is unusual 'round these parts.

But now back to you poor Yankees and yer 'heat wave' :

:whiste:

In 2011 we had a record drought with 40+ CONSECUTIVE DAYS of 100 degree weather. The ground was so parched all the grass turned to straw, cracked Earth was pervasive and trees died by the thousands.

This was a picture I took from a park a few blocks from here in 'the worst summer ever' of 2011 -

Nice to have a little relief sometime! 😀

Sounds like USA Today.

Breaking News: Hot Weather is Hot! People Less Comfortable than if it was Less Hot!

It's not so much the heat up here but the humidity is what kills you. Air is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Besides I'd like to see how a Texan stands up to a Canadian winter. 😉

It will be over 90 and >80% humidity here for the next two months.

Suck it.

Exaggerators gonna exaggerate. 😉

You got a point. Any time it snows down here WE start freaking out!

Flurries shut down my city. So does rain. People are pretty damn dumb.

But it doesn't change that it's a hell of a lot easier to endure cold (...wear more clothes) than it is ridiculous heat and thick, swampy air. Leading to my 'deal with it, northern pussies' type of comments.

It's pretty hot here too. I can't imagine 95 though, high 80's is bad enough. I'm sweating the minute I start to do any movements. I'm in my office with the 1 ton AC unit blowing on me though, so it's all good. Shorts are sticking to my butt though. I have to get up once in a while just to let the chair cool off. 😛 I don't know how fat people manage in this type of weather, it must be 10x worse for them.

Can't complain though, it's a nice break from winter.

I can sweat alot easier than I can shiver.

Of course I work outside with my hands, so in the winter even when I cover up my hands get to cold to move. This never happens in the summer.

a friend in texas said people were wearing sweatshirts in 75 degree temperatures

whole state is a bunch of sissies :colbert:

Hahaha that's hilarious.

To me 60F or so is the cut off where I think I should probably put pants on instead of shorts, but I wear tshirts all year round. When it hits like 40ish F then I put a coat.

But clothes are the antidote for shiver.

Once I'm naked and still drenched in my own buttsweat, I'm out of options.

I've lived in New York (upstate) and currently live in Houston (last 18 years). I would take the winter of Upstate New York over the summer of Houston any day.

FelixDeKat, your brains in the south have already cooked, making you morons. Of course you don't care about heat. The damage has already been done.

Northerners are upset because they don't want to end up as stupid as you.

Hitting 100's in Sacramento is nothing. Hit 100's in San Francisco, 1.5 hours away and it'll suck. People over there aren't used to the type of weather. Most of them probably don't have air conditioning. Especially the poor ones living in small apts like senior citizens. Oh yeah, east coast humidity sucks.

Houston is the worst place in America for humidity, next to Galveston, of course. :awe:

A little after 9pm here and the heat index is about 93F. AC is currently set to 70, but it'll go down to 64 when I go to bed. 😎

You fucking moron.
People are adapted to their climate.

Sustained 95 degree weather up here is not something we are prepared for or adapted to and can be life threatening to many of us.

I fail to see the humour in your thread.
