Ok so I locked the keys in a car. 92 Buick Century. Whats the easiest/cheapest way of getting the doors open short of breaking something.

Thanks

EDIT: no spares and hanger wont work

Sit patiently and wait for the molecules in the door to wear down, and then remove it.

Call the local po-po, they can come and jimmy it open with a slim Jim.

Since you couldn't figure out either calling AAA or the locksmith, your only options are to throw a brick in the window or cry.

First things first.. make sure all your doors are actually locked. :)

Then.. Call a locksmith.. some cost around $50 if its an easy jobber

sounds like a winnar

You will probably have to sign a waiver saying they are not responsible for any damage done though. But this is probably your best, and cheapest option.

Hah. You think thats something? Try being locked out of your car even though you have the keys in your hand.

Theives tried to jack the car, so they tried to pick both locks, but failed. In failing though, they fvcked them up, so the real key can't even go in anymore. I can only lock/unlock the doors with an alarm. Last time I was locked out of it, I just drove 500 miles with the entire contents of my room so I could start my stay at college and it was 11 at night. Fun times!

Other then telling my story, all I have to say is call a locksmith.

Ouchy. How much was it to get the locks repaired/replaced?

Well, while I was waiting for AAA, about 6 friends I met at summer advising were sitting around (who showed up to help me carry my stuff into the dorms) growing more and more agitated. One of the girls started smashing the alarm against the ground and pressing the button, repeating over and over until the truck would get there. As we saw the truck pull into the parking lot, it suddenly worked and I told the guy to go home (he probably still billed AAA for doing nothing, but I don't care). Its worked fine since, and I haven't replaced the lock or the remote.

What I usually do is pop the trunk with the key (that one still works) and push the rear seat down and crawl into my car (makes for hilarious onlookers in parkinglots) and unlock from the inside. I couldn't do it this time because I had a minifridge in the back seat and a ton of other stuff preventing me from getting my arm in far enough to unlock the door.

Good times!

EDIT: Garet Jax, you must know this story. :)

Oh yea, its been 3 years since it happened, alarm works fine. :D

EDIT 2: Oh yea, I wonder what woulda happened if the alarm didn't work. How would the locksmith pick the lock that was all fvcked up?

Thanks guys,

I'll try to find someone with AAA or I'll just have to spring for a locksmith.
