Every review I have ever read says that the G25 is better than the G27 with very few exceptions. I really want to build a seat (like a playseat) and get a wheel, but because of the poor reviews on the G27 I haven't built one yet.

Um..what? I've read quite the contrary. There is barely a difference between the two so I read, except that the shifter is stronger in the 27.

This means Logitech is phasing this out I hope..and I really hope they release a 29 for GT5.

I'm pretty sure the only thing the G25 has over the G27 (from the several reviews I've read) is the fact that the shifter can switch from gated to sequential, while the G27 is gated only.

I'm sure it would have helped if I kept track of the reviews. 🙁 I read the new buttons on the wheel have no tactile feel, and don't always function, while the paddle shifters don't 'feel' right, so it is hard to tell when you have pulled them enough. I have read rave reviews on the force feedback though.

i've almost purchased the g27... until i read that it's really not all that great... It's pretty good, but not great. I've played with the G25 before, and the shifter feels like it can break too easily... feels too plastic... and that there's very little resistance.

So I've done some research, and it turns out that the Fanatec uses a belt-driven force feed back system, which is A LOT better, and more realistic than gear driven (g25/g27). It's also much stronger too, and not as noisy! Then I've read that you can get the Lightning SST shifter or the ACT-LABS shifter, both of which is way better than the G25/G27 shifter.

And the pedal set, I've read somewhere that this one guy makes a pedal that actually hangs... Anyways, it's gonna be one expensive mother...

How much is a comparable Fanatec wheel with pedals?

The Lightning SST shifter had better be way better than the G25/G27, since it's $224.99 shipped..for just a shifter..

I've read too many bad things about the quality of the Fanatecs to ever want one. I enjoy my G27.
