Lois Lerner - deja vu

Everyone who sits in front of any hearing by Issa should plead the 5th until he shows he's serious about oversight by holding a hearing against himself for his multiple illegal leaks of classified information.
 
She needs to be tossed in jail. She's obviously hiding something. If she had told the truth all along there would be no conceivable reason to need to plead the 5th since there would be no conceivable criminal action against her. My guess is that she's protecting the involvement of the higher ups in the party (white house?).

I'm trying to figure out her motives based on earlier reporting that she intended to testify. Maybe somebody got to her?

You should start a thread about other instances in which you have issues with a person freely exercising their rights. I'm sure you have many rights which you hate other than just the Fifth Amendment.
 
Can anyone tell me why there has not been an independent special prosecutor assigned to the IRS scandal?

I keep hearing that's going to be the next step but it hasn't happened yet. I will venture a guess. It's pure politics. It's being drug out so it will be closer to the mid-terms. It's the best way to maximize the damage.

Lessee, Lerner pleads the Fifth like any run of the mill drug lord over the politically motivated IRS persecution and you feel it's Fox News and Issa who have egg on their faces?

Given the ramp up needed for a special prosecutor to be effective, you'd think there would have been one by now.

Both directions make for great political theater. *Though at this point it is pretty obvious that there was specific targeting of conservative groups vs progressive groups. I don't care if the executive branch was involved or not, that is not acceptable protocol for the IRS and I would feel equally adamant about it if the IRS was unfairly targeting liberal/progressive groups vs conservative.

It is a prime example of how power gets invented and abused in gov't as any agency grows larger and larger in size and scope.

She already pleaded the fifth last time, I guess Issa didn't hear it. Or he thinks that the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution is something that you can waive once and for all, and not something you can assert at any time.
