I installed XP Pro the other day everything was fine until today.now when i turn on the machine windows wants me to log on and log off.can anyone tell me how to fix this. thanks.
 
ummm...well...that's how XP works...you log on, since it's an NT based system

don't you have a username and password, or at least an administrator password setup?

there ARE ways to enable an "auto login", but most people like the security that comes with needing a valid logon to access the system
 
Go to the control panel and go to users and change the way users logon. It will give you several options to choose from.
