The LCD on the keyboard could be nice for displaying system information... that woud be cool. Anyone know if it could be configured to show things like system temps, fps, latencey, system resources ?

If it can be made to show that kind of info, I already own it. ;)

Since games can be programmed to make use of it, I don't see why other software can't. Just gotta see if anyone actually wants to take the time to make something like that.

Would running something like the netgraph from CS on the keyboard LCD make much of a performance hit to the system resources? Probably not much I'm thinking, but I really have no idea. I always try to keep non essential operations from running when gaming.

I just think people would be curious as to how hard their hard earned hardware was working while playing their favorite games. Things like GPU,CPU,RAM and internet connection workload/performance. The gamer could tell at a glance what part of their system might be the weakest link. For people who dont know hardware inside and out, that would seem like a usefull idea.

I'm sure there are ways to monitor those things while playing, but if someone could make a lightweight, easy to use app it might be more useful than displaying things like ammo/health which is usually displayed on the screen.

Don't get me wrong, I value every inch of screen space and having a less obstructed field of view would be great but having to look away from the screen is probably to high a price to pay for that trade off. At least as far as FPS games are concerned IMO.

Could they possibly make the mice look ANY uglier?

God, who chooses these colors.

The G15 also features a switch that turns off the 'Windows' key, so hitting that button accidentally won't end your game.
Holy sh!t, why couldn't someone have come out with this sooner?!!! That little detail just sold me.

Thats just rediculous. im using a MX510 mouse and thats already better than anyone will ever need since it can keep up with any players movements. and honestly, changing the sensitivity while you play? in most games you just need to bring up the console with a tap of the button and then type "sensitivity 2.3" or something similar. the on the fly sensitivity will piss people off because theyll be say sniping and then they have it on the setting they use for a machine gun.. and when the move the mouse itll be all wrong etc. stupid.

If you needed a LCD on your keyboard then you are one lazy mother to not be able to say press the TAB key in games like CS. it would take more effort to look all the way down at your keyboard and figure out what your looking for than self conciously pressing the tab key n looking at the results on-screen.

i DO like the glowing buttons but then thats pointless to coz playing in the dark is just plain bad for your eyes. nice gimmick though. overall quite stupid. i already have that black wireless keyboard from the MX Duo set and thats perfect. what you need is something with media controls and stuff you can use when your not gaming. BTW im 17 and i game a lot, Splinter Cell CT, CS, Warcraft TFT. i suppose if your buying a new mouse now it wouldent hurt to get a MX518 instead. however im pretty sure those mouses are only for idiots to show off to their friends how they wasted their parents money, otherwise professional players. (few and far between)

"The G7´s full-speed, bi-directional USB connection sends a blazing 500 reports/second* over 2.4 GHz wireless for a bulletproof connection."

uh-oh wrong frequency.

Wireless mice and keyboards are a joke IMO. Anyone who uses a wireless keyboard and games often or uses their pc for extended periods is probably some kid being supported by their parents or CEO of some battery company. Rechargeable or not it's still a stupid idea. Never owned one never will.

If I were to get one of those mice I would get the G5(corded). I'm glad they had enough sense to make the keyboard corded.

ah wireless stuff has its merits, firstly.. no wires! (no sh*t) but then that means freedom of movement which also means... typing while lying on your bed. (if you must) and whats more, the keyboard i have has media control, so i can pause a video/movie im watching while sitting on my bed or change songs... although its a rare case, if you ever need to, then well the option to do so is there. better to have something you dont usually use than to not have something you need, wouldent you say? anyway thats my view. for me though the mouse HAS to be corded. not coz i believe any of the "OMGWTF IT LAGS" theories that gamers have, but because battery weight is a problem, as well as the fact that they run out.

I don't game on the PC much anymore but that's a sweet keyboard. The info display + the backlit keyboard is a nice combo/

That info display seems a little pointless, how often are you going to refer to that for your ammo count and not your HUD

Agreed. Taking your eyes off the screen seems counter-productive.
