Logitech z906

So my logitech z2300's broke, and I loved them. Under 2 yr warranty that they came with so logitech is sending me the z906 as a replacement.

Thing is, z906 looks silly. I've read some great reviews... but the digital receiver it comes with? It just looks so tacky and cheap. I've got YAMAHA receivers and shit for real stereo systems... I'm sure that beats their cheap little digital one.

So what I'm thinking is that I Will sell the z906 because I don't think logitech is that great of a speaker maker and I don't want surround sound really because of the wires and shit and using hte $300 from that, I will buy a set of stereo speakers. Mormount or Klipsch.

Any recommendations for a $300 stereo set? As I said, I Already have a few solid receivers lying around so only looking to blow my money on the speakers.

maybe the swan d1080 if you're looking for active/powered speakers

or the infinity primus 162 or 163 if you're looking for passive/unpowered
if you want a sub you'll have to pick up a pair of bookshelves for ~$50-100 (like the $50 pioneers that have been going on and off sale at newegg lately), and probably the bic subwoofer (i think it's the f-12) everyone recommends for ~$200

hmm...

I think it will serve me best to get passive speakers and then later on if I so desire I can pick up an amp.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'm seriously considering the Energy RC-10 and Arx A1's. I Think Energy RC-10's look a bit better, but that is all.

A couple more questions:

Any thoughts on these?

And is there any way for me to take the subwoofer from my Logitech Z2300 and somehow bypass the remote and connect it to my stereo receiver?

If you care anything at all about sound quality I would do it.

I went from a z560 set to a basic 2.1 setup and I've never looked back.
