Been looking to get these speakers for awhile.

MWAVE.com has these listed for $135.

$23 shipping to my hometown in AZ......East coasters pay a couple dollars
more for the shipping.

Not a smokin deal, but certainly warm compared to the $199 retail.

Linky-doodle

Offer good thru 2/22/02

What's EMS?

I bought these for $115 back when Dell had that special. I'm telling my friend to get these. Have they been that expensive all this time that $159 shipped is a deal? Wow.

Just to inform you, there have been a good number of quality complaints on these speakers. They are good sounding, but Logitech is not much for quality control. Two friends have these, both have had to have them replaced. The replacements have been good,so far!The point is,use them well for the first month. Most problems, from what I hear are related to the soldering.I am not trying to don't buy them.Just be aware of the problem.

Actually that link up top, 2buystore.com, they have it for $139 with FREE ground shipping.
Thats a great deal.....now we just have to check their reseller's rating.

getting these shipped to your door is a good thing. they weigh A TON! i had to lug my set from the bookstore to my computer and it hurt! see if you can slip the UPS a few bucks to drop it off right next to your computer =)

I want to buy new computer speakers and I want to know, are these things really that bassy? I can't stand a ton of base, I much prefer a clear crisp sound. I know the Z560's have a great subwoofer, but is there a way to turn it down?

I keep mine at the minimum bass level and flat EQ on my TB Santa Cruz. The bass is a bit heavy at low volumes but deep and resonant. At high volumes the sound balances out more. I wouldn't say that the min. bass level is TONS of bass but it's undeniably there. If you feel that the bass is an issue you could try stuffing the sub or turning down bass in software. Regardless, the highs are warm and sweet so freq. response isn't entirely one-sided.

I have heard good and bad things about these. Have been looking at these, but was wondering what the best site for reviews of these and comparable speakers are?

I first read about them in John C Dvorak's article in PCMag and he said something like "I have never written about any speakers in the last ten years but these are really good speakers and I am thinking buying one for my home." I have also seen him talk about things at TechTv, and he's barely ever satisfied with any product, if he likes these speakers they are gonna be pretty good I guess 🙂
Here is PCMag's review covering Monsoon MM2000 (best), Logitech z560 (2nd) and Klipsch Promedia 4.1. but said that there is little difference, and is only in the highs. PCMag's Review

FiringSquad.Gamers.com Altec Lansing 641 vs Logitech z560 gave 641 an 86%, and z560 a 94%

Dansdata.com compared Altec Lansing Select 4100, Cambridge SoundWorks FPS1600, Creative Inspire Digital 5700 and Logitech Z-560, and rated it best (I think so)

There's one at PC World

If you want more links, go to neoseeker.com and search for logitech z560
I am thinking of buying me this set when I get a good deal like there was one at Dell.com for $115, I am short on budget, and also have to upgrade my Processor/Mobo, perhaps I'd sacrifice my CPU upgrade for these speakers.

That 2buystore sounds like a good deal. Their reseller rating is also fairly good. A 5.8. I'm going to order right now. Thanks.
Hmm wait a second, I just clicked the actual Z560 info page and that picture they show is not the Z560.

These are indeed wonderful speakers...I got mine for $114 from Dell a few months back. Still worth it at $159 shipped IMHO.🙂

Under the picture it says: "Stock Photo Shown"
I think what they are saying is it the picture is a stock/generic picture of speakers, because they didn't have one of the specific speaker set.

The manufacturer SKU listed matches the Logitech Z-560's. I ordered from there.
