Logitech Z5500's don't work with computer

I checked all of the connections, they're all in, I'm using the onboard sound on an M2N-E motherboard. Am I missing anything I should be looking for? Thanks.

It's set to analog output and when I plug my headphones into the front bay of my centurion case I can hear everything just fine. To be honest it seems like it was leading up to this. At first sound didn't work on firefox, then on my emulators, then on my pc games like bf2, then finally itunes and everything else. Is this related some how?

So your headphones work attached to the front of your case... but do they work if plugged into your integrated sound in the back? Based on what you're saying, I would assume not.

Your OP is a little vague. They may be connected but are they connected properly? 🙂 Are the speakers plugged into sub, and control pod to sub via the screw down connector? Do you have the green/orange/black mini-jack cable from the control pod connected to the same colored input on the M2N-e? The control pod switch needs to be on 6 ch. direct., and you have to flip the standby switch on the sub and the control pod. Use the input button on the pod to switch inputs.

Do your headphones work when connected to the green out on the mainboard? Do any other speakers work?

I don't know anything about your rig, but from what I Googled, your speakers are digital not analog. Did you try setting it for digital?

Analog is the only way he's going to get this to work unless he had a sound solution that encodes DD / DTS

I just tried it. It doesn't work attached to the back of the case, weird. Is the integrated sound shot then?

The speakers are probably fine then, so yeah.. something on your integrated sound.

It might be a driver issue though and not something physically wrong. Maybe unistalling/reinstalling drivers would be a good first step.

The whole slow death of all your sounds is kind of odd.

With those speakers though, it would be a justifiable solution to go ahead and get a soundcard to try to clear up the problem.

alright thanks. Yeah I was planning to get an X-Fi in a couple weeks when I get some new headphones. Is the X-Fi fatality edition a lot better for games than the X-Fi platinum though? I really like the front bay of the platinum and the prices are similar, so what do you think makes more sense to get? Thanks.

The difference is the X-ram, and as of now I think that's not really much of a feature unless you know you're going to play games that take advantage of it. I'm not sure on what the future of X-ram is, but if there's a significant difference in price then I'd say go for the Platinum.
