Logitech z5500 question

I was wondering if it is safe/compatible to connect speakers to the subwoofer other than those that shipped with the unit. I want to connect some AWIA speakers to the subwoofer but only if it will not harm the hardware to do so. I am uneducated in this area, so please don't smite me for what might seem a ridiculous question 🙂 I have no idea if it is okay to mix and match in this way.

you can connect speakers that have the same impedance or higher. Going lower may be dangerous. Additionally, keep in mind that the sub isn't going to put out huge amounts of power, so ymmv as far as speaker volume and quality.

My AIWA speakers: 40 watts, 6 ohms (6 *omega symbol*, which i assume means ohms). I'm not sure about the logitech satellites.

Left/Right: 62 watts RMS x 2 (into 8 ohms, @ 1khz, @ 10% THD)
Center: 69 watts RMS (into 8 ohms, @ 1kHz, @ 10% THD)
Rear Left & Right: 62 watts RMS x 2 (into 8 ohms, @ 1kHz, @ 10% THD)

get something like 8 ohm-10 ohm and you should be fine.. doing 6 may screw something up.
