when i put my speakers on six channel direct all sounds come from speakers except the center one and the other speakers are decently loud. The only time when i get soudn from all speakers is when i put it on proIImovie + proIImusic but the front is really quiet except for the center. Do i need to buy a coax or digital cable in order to have everyting play on six channel or what?

Yep.. that's basically the problem. Normally your sound card won't send a signal on the center channel unless you have a source that specifically HAS a center channel. On the other hand, with ProLogic (the two modes you speak of) it creates channels that don't exist in the source material. There's nothing wrong with your speakers.

wow, this issue sure comes up alot, a product specific sticky FAQ may be in order...
