Logitech Z506 75 watts RMS 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121044

Logitech Z523 40 Watts RMS 2.1 Speaker System

Assume they are the exact same price $99.99
I wont be placing them in a surround set up, so that really isnt a place i guess.
Im leaning towards the z506 because they are the same price and almost double
the wattage.(i know that wattage really has nothing to do with quality, but it is one unit of measurement for loudness).
But then again its kinda wierd that 3 speakers are the same price as 6 speakers!

Not really; if you look, shipping weight is almost identical. It's just like getting your cheese cut into smaller pieces :D

Why not a pair of bookshelves plus some amp? Or active monitor?

They also have a 5.1 set with active sub for like 84 but you will need to power the speakers. They have 3" drivers.

The 506 are 90 with free shipping at newegg now.
506 total power is 75W rms, no THD quoted.

523s are 40w rms according to logitech website. Lulz at 10% THD.

I say go with 506 of the two. At least you have spare speakers :awe:

I'd go with the Z523. The subwoofer is higher RMS watts. 40 watts vs 27 watts. With these small systems the subwoofer has to fill alot of the range that the satellites are lacking.

That is not a subwoofer. It's a mid-range.
