my current z640 is 5.1 and I don't need it. I already got a 5.1 setup in my HTPC. 2.1 is perfect for desktop use imo because it's hard to place the satelites in a office area w/o sacrificing asthestics.

intogamer: the general rule of thumb is for the same price, a 2.1 system sounds WAY better than a 5.1 system. For instance, you would almost never want to get a 5.1 system for less than $100 if you wanted good quality sound.

I have a set of these Logitechs and they are an incredible value. If you follow-up on the rebate then the cost/benefit is pretty simple math.

How could you recommend something you do not even have (for yourself or proof of review) plus for ~ $100 more?

please dont question me about my feedback. i've done my research between the klipsche 2.1's and logitech 2.1's. and btw its called at any best buy or circuit city or jandr or compusa or ANY computer store that would have these for display that i could have listened to these. i got too good of a deal on the logitech 2300's at the time to pass them up or i would have gotten the klische's for a $20 or so difference in price

alright if you guys are willing to setting for low quality sound then by all means logitech makes the speakers for you. for those that want quality, go with klipsche. everyone is just lowering the price of these speakers lately because nobody was buying them due to the bad quality. no mids, squeaky highs and boomy bass. at one point a few months ago these and the klipsche were within $10 shipped of each other and even for $70 more i'd pay for nice quality klipsches than to settle with these.

Klipcsch has great speakers no doubt, but the price for z-2300 after rebate makes it a HOT deal. Trust me, you can get your Klipsche Promedia 2.1, it still don't sound nearly as good as my Harmon Kardon setup in my living room. Thread crapping is not needed especially $50 MIR on a good set of speakers. z-2300 is not the greatest, but it's one of the best.

Z2300's are great speakers. At this price, you won't find a better set of speakers for your computer. And it's Klipsch.... there is no 'E' on the end of it. Thanks for the deal OP

I've read and heard the the difference b/w the Klipcsch speakers with the z-2300. If any of you wanna go argue some more...just post us a $50 dollar rebate for Klipcsch speakers. Otherwise stop saying how much better they are. This is the hotdeal section, Z-2300 are hot, Klipcsch are not. 🙂
