Very tempting but what makes this a deal breaker for me is that if you figure in the cost of divorce if I buy these speakers this deal is ice cold 😉
 
wary because of complaints about that center channel hiss. great deal for now, but i expect more and even better deals down the road to settle for this one with the slight defect.

hot for a new item, but arguable relative to what we've seen in the past. remember when amazon had z-560s for $99 (129.99 - $30 rebate). i think the 680's just came out then.

can somoeone who has the speakers already share their experience with the hiss?

Logitech fixed the hiss with the new batches of z-680's. There was some hiss on the earlier batches but its gone now. Damn, I'm still contemplating getting this. I just bought TIVO for $249 yesterday, and I might get the lifetime membership which is another fricken 300 bux. now this deal comes along!! I need to stop surfing these forums.
 
I bought them a little while back and the hiss from the ctr channel just plained sucked. I took them back and got the newer revision and yes, they fixed it. I've gone from klipsch, to the z 560's to now these, and by far these do the job and do it very very well! 😉
 
I have these speakers paired with an Audigy 2, and the output is unbelievable. Don't let the Klipsch Cult talk you out of getting these.

 
Thank goodness my other order was delayed... I had it ordered on Sunday ($254 with free next day shipping) and it was delayed for some reason...

Called them, canceled my order and reordered... (i sure hope they cancel my other order... it doesn't show as canceled yet)
 
Is the sound from these THX certified speakers that great? I have a crappy z-540 4.1, and they don't sound too bad to me. I guess it would be easier to tell if you cranked up the sound, but since I live in a Condo where my neighbors might complain if I turn up the sound or music too loud...I probably don't need these. 🙂

Not a bad deal, but if you're not extremely size constrained, pick up the HTS-650 refurbs from Onkyo for $320 shipped. It's a full component system that blows these things out of the water, along with not being tied down to the same satellites if you ever choose to upgrade. Mine should be here by the end of the week🙂

shoponkyo.com doesn't list that deal at that price, but 439.00. Where did you find that one?
 
How do you know they "blow these things out of the water" if you don't have them yet?

And how long did you use the 680's, and what sort of things did you do with them?
