Link to speakers

This deal was posted about 10 days ago. They are back in stock and the price is even lower so I felt the need to repost it. The free shipping is good through Midnight Est. January 22. You won't find a better price for these speakers anywhere. (unless they're stolen).

For all who still havn't ordered these, ORDER THEM! You won't regret buying the best pc speaker set up you can buy (especially for this price)...I own Monsoon 5.1 speakers and I have friends that own the Klipsch 5.1s, another with the Z-560s and another with the Z-680s. I've had a chance to test each quite a bit, and would choose the z-680s without hesitation.

Lastly, eCost.com is a reputable dealer, so have no fear of ordering from them.

That's a pretty tempting price. How do they compare with the z-560? Is it worth the price difference? Just trying to get some opinions before I make a purchase.

unfortunately, the free shipping does not apply to the z-680s at buy.com...The shipping is approximately $50, so even with the coupon its close to $300 there.

The 680s are WAY better than the 560's. Although the sattelites are almost identical, the 680s also have a center channel (for use with movies and games). The subwoofer is completely redesigned for the 680s and produces much cleaner (and even louder) base. The 680's also have a really nice control center which allow have a SPDIF, Optical, and normal analog connections on the back. It has built in processing for dolby digital 5.1 and DTS...In summary, the 560s are inexpensive and loud, but the 680s do that and EVERYTHING else.

Haha...actually, a couple weeks back, alienware had these speakers for $265 shipped. I jumped on that one.

After doing some research I'm gonna pass on eCost. Their lifetime rating is like 6.72. You should also edit the price I think to reflect their "hidden" handling charge ($10.95) I believe.

You can get free ground shipping (3-7 days), but like you said the $9.99 FedEx overnight doesn't apply to these speakers (It's like $82.00).

I really want these things... every review says they kick ass. Guess I'll check out Newegg and some other places.

yup, I wouldnt touch the 680s anytime soon.

I had a set about a month ago and they (along with many, many other peoples') had the infamous hissing problem.

only I was lucky enough to be able to return them because I bought them locally at Comp USA. I shouldve asked around before I bought them cuz I then wouldve known about the hissing problem and definately would not have got them.

oh well, its all good. I returned the 680s and instead bought a set of the Klipsch 5.1 Pro Medias which DEFINATELY are a much better performer. yeah, they cost more but oh well. you get what you pay for.

A close friend of mine set them up for his master bedroom TV/home theater set-up. They're sufficient for a small room but definitely not for regular home theater use. You'll need larger drivers than 3" ones for that!

Why would you buy Klipsch when you could buy the PureDigital (former VideoLogic) Digitheatre DTS for a HT???? I can understand for gaming, but not HT.

i have 2 sets of 560's in a 5.1 setup (doubled fronts,center)

and i must say the 1-way drive is really the downfall of this logitech design. the z680's don't seem to improve on this. especially for voice in movies, relying on one driver is real hit or miss and doesn't reproduce the sound range evenly.

this is why good centers are 3-way, or 2-way at least.

good for computer speakers, and occassional home theatre, i would probably go klipsh when my 560's give out.
