Well, when I have the volume at a pretty low level, I cannot hear anything from the left front satellite, while all the other satellites are playing fine. I turn the fade knob from extreme left to extreme right, and nothing from that 1 sat. I even switched the speaker wire of a working satellite with the faulty sat. And still nothing. Although, when I turn the volume to a decent level, I can hear music from the faulty satellite, but it's not as clear/loud as the others... I'm hoping I don't have to send this back, I just got it today... Am I goofing something up here ?

hmm... I just had the exact same problem, actually, even though I love how these speakers sound, I have some complaints, they are not perfect:

1) As you said, the left front speaker is lower in volume than the others, I rechechked all the connections, and I found that where is connectes to the subwoofer, it wasn't being pressured down all the way. Why can't they just use stereo plugs? the speaker wire setup is so sensetive that if one wire pops out of those chep little plastic things, the sound fades. I have had to reinsert the wires into the sub numerous times, those little plastic things with the spring, they are a b#tch to keep down, they keep popping out.

2) It's 400watts of power, I'm assuming it's not using that much all the time, but it should go into automatic off\powersaving mode if there are no sounds after a few minutes.

3) sometimes, I have to "reset" the system, turn down all the knobs, disconnect the subwoofer from the controls, plug it back in, turn it up. I think if you leave the knobs mid level, and plug it in, or turn it on and off, it restarts from that level meaning you can't go all the way with the base, etc.

4) the fade feature does not click into a mid point so I really can't tell when it is balanced. Also, with the fade all the way to the rear, I still hear some sound from the front speakers, even after a "reset"

I'm sure they will address some of these issues in the next revisions, but still from the price I am satisfied.

Novon... You are exactly right. The connectors on the subwoofer are sh!tty. I have had 2 of them pop off on me, and they are difficult to get back on right. Also, when I turn the volume all the way down, I can still hear music coming from one of the satellites. But do you think my satellite is defective, because I switched the speaker wire and it still wasn't working at low volumes. Maybe it is the connections at the subwoofer, as you say. I think I will call Logitech anways, just to see what they have to say. Thanks for the reply.

I checked mine for these problems and the sound level seems equal from left to right, even at the lowest volume. Only problem I really have had is a feedback problem from having the sub too close to my surge protector, rearranging things solved that. I didn't like the connectors on the back of the sub either, after inserting the wires, pushing down on the tab a little seemed to lock them in place. I'm using heavy speaker wires on mine. All in all, a hell of a deal for the price so far. Good luck guys..

The reason there is speaker wire connectors on the amp and the satellites is so you can get the right amount of wire for what you need. I have my speakers further away than the wires would reach, so I replaced them with longer speaker wire. If they were stereo plugs, I would've had to buy an extension cord.

Yeah well I hope none of you guys have to RMA these speakers cause Dell Sucks!, I called for an RMA because of the buzzing being emitted from the sub. Dell told me that they probally are not going to stock these speakers anymore and they would credit my account or send me a comparable set. I said there is no comparable set except for Klipsh, and I don't think Dell even sells them. So this sucks, I should have bought the Klipsh in the first place. Also I will never buy jack from Dell again, guess I can wait till after 30 days and RMA them to logitech, only choice I have I guess. :(

ck1016, so Dell sucks because they sold you the speakers at almost 50% retail and then offered your money back or comparable speakers because they are not in stock? You were in the thread, did you expect them to have stock lying around when many folks haven't been shipped yet?

Can't you just take the refund and buy the other speakers you want?

ck1016, i suggest you rma them to logitech. if dell refunds your money, you're only gonna get $115 back and that's not enough to get another pair of logitech's ;)
