Thanks guys. I dunno. I've heard good reviews from the Z-5500. that's all I know. And they're affordable.
So shouldn't be unhappy if I get one of those.
Even if Klipsch is better I wouldn't cry if I get Z-5500
It's more affordable to me since I don't have to get a decoder or anything.
Yeah if you don't want to deal with getting a decoder I would for sure go with the z-5500's. The z-680's are very much like the z-5500's with a smaller sub, and not as nice of a decoder, if you can find the z-680's for that much cheaper then the z-5500's go for it, but I don't think that that you can get them for much less then like $40 cheaper so that's not really worth it. The Klipsch are nice don't get me wrong, but they are not as nice as the Logitech's. I have listened to the Klipsch 5.1's many times, I have a friend that has them, I don't think they sound great. There are plenty of forums debating the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra's and the Logitech z-5500.
Okay, i'll compare an ATI x850XT to a Nvidia 6600, dont get me wrong, the 6600 is OKAY but the x850xt is awsome.
I have listened to my RF-7s and Logitec 5500's, dont get me wrong, the 5500s are okay but the RF-7s are awsome!
Logitech doesnt even have a community like klipsch.
Go visit their forums and you will find all the info you need on speakers.
Either way, Klipsch makes high end speakers for home theatres, etc,
Logitech make mice and keyboards.
Let me tell you somthing, incase you didnt know, the Z-680s are simply a z-560 set with an added center speaker and THX plus a few other features.
THe Z-5500 is just a z-680 with a 10'' sub in the same old 8'' enclosure with crome.
Tisk tisk.
For real dude, I already said we will have to agree to disagree, but I guess you can't get that through your feeble mind. I see the quote and all the other nonsense below about how you found this quote from a true audiophile, or whatever, I can go out and search on the Promedia's 5.1's vs. the z-5500's and find two quotes about how the z-5500's are superior in every aspect including sound qaulity. Most forums I found go back and forth about which is better, but in all honesty it seems that more people prefer the sound of the z-5500.
yeah sure, your revisioned z-580s rock.
Klipsch knows speakers, Logitech knows mice.
If Logitech knew anything, they would first off get some tweeters.
Stop being LAZY and get a new sub enclosure and not use the old 8 inch one. This is probably the reason it "rattles"
Get some tight bass, not boomy, then again, people who arnt audiophiles actually LIKE boomy bass. But hey, thats the.
Get the sub to go deeper, the klipsch sub will blow the logitech out of the water at lower frequencies.
My friend who has the logitech even says its boomy, he has to always ajust the bass settings.
Then again, according to you sir, the decoders, remotes, crome, and fancy features makes up for all that.
Dont the z-5500's use RCA cables? Tisk tisk.
Bottom line, people who arnt as picky about their sound like boomy bass which is probably why they like logitechs so much.
The logitech sub is boomy but can it go as deep as the klipsch like in movies and such?
Get an expert to tell you which set is better and klipsch will come out on top.
