i have the 5500, the 5450 looks like an amazing model, but i thought, now instead of hogging one electrical outlet, it will need 3. and the rear speakers will need to be placed near or close to the electric outlets in the rear. :|

FYI: The "wireless" rear speakers have a big fat power cable that you need to plug in for each. So they are not truely "wireless". That was kind of a bummer when my buddy bought them for his HTPC setup...

Yeah, but the only other alternative is batteries and I'm sure a lot more people would complain about having to dismount their rear speakers and swap the batteries out if they did it that way. Although, come to think of it, those old boomboxes with several C or D-sized batteries usually lasted awhile...

I edited the OP to restate that...some people may be turned off by that fact. For me it's great because you can always buy an extension cord 😀

I wish Logitech had included the Battery operation as an option.

Deal is hot, nonetheless
I'm considering this set for my HTPC setup (to replace Logitech Z560)

I don't hear a bit of hiss from the rears of my Z-5450. Maximum PC must have either gotten a bad set or Logitech has fixed the issue.
