This is clearly planned obsolescence by Logitech, in fact it is done so on purpose, so that you buy more. How is it, that over a course of a year, the mouse gets worse and worse and worse. It's ridiculous even after buying the logi bolt receiver. It works at first for a couple of weeks, and then it breaks again, screw logitech those bastards will never get any more money from me, in fact no wireless mice or keyboards will be in this household anymore from anyone. This is so insane, spent like £100 on this mouse!

^ I've had many Logitech mice over the years and never had any problems with connectivity. They didn't get worse for me over time, not even their low end models bundled in cheap keyboard combo sets.

I would never even consider plugging a wireless dongle of any kind into the back of a metal computer case, instead use a USB extension cable, same as I would for a wifi or bluetooth general purpose USB transceiver.

I did have a problem with Logitech mouse wake-up movement lag back in the day when they used their power saving optical light /whatever tech instead of lasers, and promoted being able to get a year of runtime from... whatever they used, 1 x AA battery? That was just bad tech where it went to sleep if you stopped moving it for a moment, not a long enough interval till it slept. I think I still have a Logitech Mediaplay mouse somewhere that does that, no longer being used.

I did the dongle extension cable thing as well, no dice, still the same shitty response time, total lag, unusable for even normal user activity and an absolute lightyear away from any type of gaming. And btw you should stay away from any wifi/bluetooth dongles in the first place, always get a PCIE card comb, they are cheap enough and way beyond the shitty dongles.

The only times I've ever had connectivity issues: dongle plugged into the back, dongle plugged into the front but a USB drive attached in the adjacent port (fix for #1 and #2 is to use a monitor USB port or a wired keyboard's USB port) or two separate dongles in adjacent front ports (my mom had a wireless MS keyboard and a wireless Logitech mouse - drove me nuts whenever I was fixing something, until I replaced that whole setup).

I have done that as well, I am actually connected on a DELL monitor with tons of connectivity, tried everything from just dongle in any port to USB extension, still didn't work. It also wouldn't make a difference logically, if you think about it, it worked for 2 weeks perfectly, and then all the sudden without any changes, it stopped working well enough.

Random thought, but the dongles have firmware: could it just need an update from the Logitech bolt/unifying software?

Or maybe you just got a dud. Warranty or return and re-buy?

Logi Options+ says no firmware updates found. Also I am not the only one with these problems, see here: and here:
I might have to file a warranty claim, it's a shame I am a loyal Logi customer, however it's just getting worse and worse over time, and with every iteration of Logi product coming on the market the longevity of the product reduces further and further.

I've been using Logitech stuff for years and haven't seen such a change in quality. My mice usually just need replacing when the switches start to wear out (usually something I only start to notice when double clicking isn't consistent or drag and drop starts to act funky).

I'm not surprised to see others having issues - that's bound to happen to some percentage of users. Id certainly keep in mind that tons of people use these without issues, but people don't run to reddit to write when things work as intended.

Maybe there is also a nearby source of interference. It's hard to say.

Yeah well had it on bluetooth before, that went south, then I bought the Logi bolt receiver and it went south, and my K380 also works abysmal, so does a second Logi Wireless mouse and also another Logi keyboard as well as a third Logi Pebble. I had actually tried even having the USB extension hang off of the desk edge, and it was still super laggy. However coming back to what you said second, there being a lot of interference, this is possible. I have got a ton of tech in the same area including an XBox Series X, HDDs, Chromebook Laptop, a 4k TV, 1080p Dell hub monitor, label printer, Amazon Echo, multiple portable HDDs and one SSD, but the USB extension and the Logi Bolt receiver is away from all of that and the XBox isn't even on. And it remains, why did it work perfectly without any changes, for entire 2 weeks?

I'm not claiming this switch will work for ALL Logitech mice, but it does for many I've replaced... which only takes a few minutes:
