How do I configure this or a gamepad so I can fly in Battlefield?

Well, if you are using Windows XP, go into control panel and make sure that the game pad is active in the game controllers panel.

If it is, and it's all calibrated, click on advanced and make sure that it's the default controller. Once you set it to default, load up BF1942 and click on controls then air then just click on the different actions, and when prompted for a key, push the appropriate button on the controller.

I'm trying to get my Saitek X45 throttle to work with it. I've set up 3 controllers in BF1942, so it is possible. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if I can't help you figure it out.

Found the problem. The instructions start with the right SPEED. You have to start with the right SLOWDOWN get it setup correctly.
