The problem;
Until I Chose PNP OS installed in the BIOS, I was not able to fully load windows98se over 900MHz cpu speed. However when I changed and reset the ISCD ( I think that's what it was) it would load fine. I went for a months with it at 1GHz with no problem until I went to get the Joystick to work. Upon loading the driver (as soon as I clicked the add button, the cpu froze, wouldn't shut off with front power button. I reinstalled the latest DX8 beta. I tried reinstalling the drivers with the managing software which made windows unloadable and seize the same way in normal mode. I went back to 850MHz and things are fine again now. I can't see any gaming advantage to running at 1GHz with a V5 5500 since its the bottleneck at around 800MHz, but this puzzles me. TIA for any help... 😕

madthumbs, here is your fix.

I indeed installed WinME again, to suffer the same problems as your are having, and what I was having in Windows 98.

I was doing my daily search on different sites for drivers that I have been waiting for, and, low-and-behold...logitech has Wingman Software Version 3.62

Download them, install, reboot and away she will go!

Logitech Wingman Software Version 3.62

Really nice having the old girl working again, o yeah, and there is a new machine-gun force-feedback test-effect with this one, so that in itself makes it all worth it! 🙂
