Logitech Webcam C310 - do I have to use install CD?

I just purchased the Logitech Webcam C310 for my parents to use with skype. They will never use the features that come with the Logitech CD...or the Logitech HD software either. Can they just plug in the camera and have Windows install generic drivers to use for skype?

They are using Windows Vista.
 
Yes they can.
The only thing they might really miss out on are the camera controls that can be installed from the cd. If they install this software they will be able to zoom in and out and make other adjustments to the cameras view/image.
