What exactly is the difference between this one and the desktop one besides the lack of dual wheels? I've been looking to replace my mouse for a while.

The desktop one is bigger. This one uses regular batteries, while the desktop one is rechargeable (I think it comes with a dock while this one doesn't)

Also, the big one has automatically switching ratchet/smooth wheel, while this one is a switch that you have to manually flick to change.

I was using this one on my friend's laptop. Works great. It's a very nice mouse.

Desktop= MX revolution..entirely different mouse..size and feel..I have a VX and MX revolution..love them both

You do not have to be a member to purchase from COSTCO.com but you will pay a slight premium over someone with a membership.

It was advertised in their monthly ad mailer, the item number in the mailbox flyer is: 185408 or 178121 (use the # in costco search box)

Oddly, it does appear to have been removed from their website. Even typing in the product # doesn't generate a hit. I don't know if their B&Ms would honor the coupon, or even if they have it. Might be worth a try, or at least a call.
