Logitech Vs. Microsoft

Between a Logitech mouse and a Microsoft mouse which would you rather have. Also are you a gamer or a non gamer. What do you think are pros and cons of these companies mice.

But to answer your question, Logitechs are better hands down - for gamers or casual users.

Ok they've both made great products and they've both made crappy products. You can't just go flat out and say ones made totally superior products bar none. Logitech has the better wireless keyboards, Microsoft had the better optical mice. Now Logitech is kicking their butt again with the MX series of mice both wireless and wired. I've always prefered Microsofts ergo keyboards to Logitechs versions (when I can find them) and what ever happened to Microsoft's speaker efforts? They made a very nice digital speaker system and then dropped from the face of the planet. Logitech wasn't making some good sets and then exploded out with their Z series. So I'd say its a draw

I have no experience with Logitech mice. I had an old Intellimouse that died on me about 6 months after I bought it and I never knew about their replacement deal until a year or so later. They sent me the newer Intellimouse 3.0 and I've been using it since...probably about 8-10 months now...

i like the msoft mice better

i think the logitech are too small/light, with the msoft having a much better "feel" in my hand

but my friend is a devout logitech user too, so it depends on the person

I like Logitech mice better overall, but the M$ drivers are a lot better in the sense that all of the freaking buttons work without having to bind to something stupid like Shift (a la MouseWare). If MS didn't have such a nice and courteous RMA system which is utilized quite often, they'd be a waste of money IMO. So for games I'd get a MSFT mouse (need those buttons working!) and otherwise get a Logitech (using a Logitech Dual Optical pimped out with one blue and one green LED BTW).

Logitech MX500 + Microsoft Intellipoint Software = Heaven

If only they'd work together. I hate Logitech's MouseWare..

I would say that MS has better ergonomics, at least for my hands. I also do not like the feel of the Logitech scroll wheel as it does not "flow" like the MS scroll wheels (at least on the Explorer). Logitech however has better tracking, etc. but has a crappy scroll wheel which is a huge part of the mouse. So I am at a loss right now on which mouse to pick.

I'll second the ergonomics thing about MS mice. They are designed for the countours of the right hand better than the top-end Logitechs I fondled at Best Buy. The latest Intellimouse Explorer has a great optical tracking device, but I doubt it's as good as Logitech's lastest. MS got my money on my latest mouse purchase, mostly because of the ergonomic design. Ergonomics are extremely important to me (ergonomicist) and are the first thing I look for when I look for a tool I have to interact with.
