I made a mention of this in another thread, but I figured it deserves its own thread. I've only seen two stores selling it: Newegg and Z-Buy. I'd like to find a review or at least some more pictures of it. It would appear to be a "laptop-like" keyboard with a proper layout and full size (I hope). Does anyone have this keyboard? Logitech doesn't list it on their site and a google search did not turn up anything useful.

Definitely not for me. :) My girlfriend has an ergonomic keyboard and it's a chore to type on.

Yeah, I "almost" type correctly. I don't use my pinkies for any letters or numbers, just enter and shift. I also use my left hand to hit the "y" key (bad habit from Quake). I'd have my right hand on my mouse, and Y would be my team chat button. I'd hit Y before my right hand left the mouse in case I had to make an emergency shot in that split-second.

Ergo keyboards are also larger than what I want on my desk. I'm wondering how a notebook-touch keyboard would do when full sized and properly laid out.

Call me picky (you're picky, beatle!) but I am attached to my 8 1/2 year old wrist rest and the fact that it fits along the bottom of my keyboard perfectly. Here's a quick shot of my current setup. I'll soon be moving to a desk w/no keyboard tray, however.

I see ur looking for one with a flat bottem, you do relize that you don't NEED to put on the elites wrist rest attached. I guess it still wouldn't be perfectly flat, though I still think it might fit. I like the extra features the elites comes and the qaulity is awsome aswell. I would imagine that the Ultra X is probably similar in quality just not looks and shape I'm sure either would be great keyboards.

I really wouldn't use any of the extra keys on the keyboard, so that doesn't do anything for me. I just want a keyboard with an excellent touch and a proper key layout.

I'm looking for a nice looking keyboard to replace my trusty KeyTronic Lifetime Series. And found this thread. I am looking at the Ultra X and I like the looks of the Cooler Master EAK-US1 Aluminum Keyboard and the Viewsonic KU-201 Viewmate Slim Keyboard, but read they aren't that great. I am considering the Logitech Elite, but have the same issue with wanting a straight bottom keyboard...

It's good to see there's someone else out there with the same tastes. :) I ruled out the Viewsonic and the Coolermaster because of their layout. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and get the Ultra X. It would be nice as a bedroom keyboard since it'd likely be pretty quiet. I just wonder why there are NO reviews or anything about it, including Logitech's site. Maybe I'll shoot them an email.

I didn't notice this before, but someone had posted a review about the keyboard. Sounds good!

I thought I'd offer a more thorough review of this product as detailed information is difficult to find. This is an OEM product, and, as such, is typically bundled with a new computer. It is near impossible to find and the few places I found it other than NewEgg wanted exhorbitant sums of cash for it. The keys on this keyboard are notebook, flat-cap style but in a full size format. If you like the feel and quiet of a notebook keyboard but with lots more space then this is your ticket to typing happiness. It is extremely comfortable and easy to type on. In addition to the standard keys, there are six special keys in the upper right hand corner (labelled WWW, E-Mail, Favorites, Mute, Play/Pause, and Media) that execute special functions, such as launching the default web-browser, e-mail client, media player, etc... The looks and construction are excellent, on par with the best keyboards I have tried. If this style is incorporated into Logitech's bluetooth diNovo keyboard/mouse combo, they have a real winner on their hands.

I have this keyboard and it is excellent. It is top quality and comfortable to use (it may be too thin to use with a wrist rest though but you shouldn't need one). The keys feel perfect and it saves space on my desktop. I highly recommend it and have been thinking about buying another one (looks and feels like a $60 - $75 keyboard). Looks awesome with my aluminum case with black optical drives and my Viewsonic black and silver 19" LCD.
You won't be disappointed believe me.

Skitzer, can you take some measurements of the board for us? I usually have the board's "feet" turned out so that the board sits at an angle. I think worse case, I could put some rubber on the bottom of the board to give it a lift.

I got the keyboard last night. I haven't had a chance to plug it in or take pictures yet, but I will try to tonight or at least this weekend.

Yikes, that thing scares me! I would probably switch to a different layout eventually, but I know I'd have to be able to switch when I go to work.

It's probably not hard. I can type a little in dvorak (not fast, but not deathly slow anymore), but it has no effect whatsoever on my qwerty. As long as you have some regular exposure to normal keyboards, you should have no problem going back and forth between different keyboard layouts. (I know a guy who types faster qwerty than me, and he actually types dvorak most of the time :Q)

Relayer, did you get a chance to check out the keyboard this weekend? Pics? Impressions?

I took some pics, but they are kind of crappy (low light). I took the keyboard to work today to use it there. I set it in front of my wrist rest and couldn't picture my self using it. It is just too flat and the keys are slippery and flat and my fingers would slip off. I will give more impressions after I actually use it for a few days at work.

Thanks... do you have those pics anyway? Even if they're not so great, they're better than nothing. :)
