Logitech Sphere Webcam Problems

hi there, i am new to this forum so please bare with me....... i hope everyone had a good christmas

RIGHT....down to business,i recently got a logitech sphere webcam as one of my christmas presents from my family, i thought Great all was going well when installing it.....i read the manual....installed the software and then restarted my computer to follow the wizard for installing the webcam....BUT....after all of this everytime i go to the camera settings to alter the picture or so on.....it crashes,thepicture gets stuck and i have to rebott my computer. I installed everything according to the manual so why is it not working??? all anti - virus software was off when installing it and so on. I am also unable to use the cam with msn messenger....i had problems with my last webcam when using msn messenger and it always crashed...

can anyone shed some light on this topic as it is a £100 present and my parents will kill me if they think i've broke it

If you had a previous web cam with problems, then I would assume the problem lies in your USB port driver or some other driver that is killing your camera's driver. I had similiar problems with a Logitech 4000 cam until I upgraded my USB drivers and MS media software (I can't think of the name of the app that Logitech plugs into for the camera).
