I've had the Logitech Elite Keyboard for quite some time now, which I love by the way. Anyway, ever since I got this, I've been using a software called "iTouch" that they provided so that I can use all the buttons on my keyboard that I wouldn't be able to otherwise, which I find very useful. The only downside is that this is the same software they posted back on 11/27/2002, almost a year ago.

The one problem this software gives me is the long ar$ monkey $ucking ball$ shutdown times. Why? Because the probgram doesn't "unload" according to their Common Issues list. *sigh*

For the past two or three months of having this keyboard I've ignored the few minutes for shutting down, but I was going through cleaning up my computer today and shut down times is the one major thing I'm am getting annoyed by now. Oh yeah, their answer to the problem under their Common Issues is this:

Current versions of iTouch software fail to unload while the system is shutting down, causing longer shut down times. This issue has been addressed in the next release of software, which is expected to be available shortly. Please check this document or the download page later for an update to the software.

Until then, please exit the iTouch software manually using the following instructions before you shut down. Right click on the Logitech iTouch icon in the Systray, located in the lower right hand side of your desktop. Select "Exit".

Yeah, too bad this software has been released for almost a whole year without any update, so much for "to be available shortly."

i've got that same keyboard and hate the itouch software with a passion. the reason i hate it is because the stupid scroll wheel on the left side of the keyboard is so sensitive, when i'm playing CS and hit it it tabs out of the game and makes me lose my sound =/ i don't use the software though, it sucks within itself..

I would warn you about using the iTouch software.

I realized the same thing you did, and started to exit iTouch before shutting down.

After about 2 weeks, my Win2K install stopped "recognizing" my keyboard and mouse. I tried the USB to PS/2 adapters with no luck. I tried an old IBM keyboard I still have (PS/2) with no luck. I tried it without mouse, and still no luck. I had to clean install in order correct the situation.

At that point, I did not install iTouch.

Good luck to you.

The old Microsoft keyboards were the best. Now all these keyboards have this F-Lock sh1t. Logitech doesn't put out a corded ergo keyboard anymore and Microsoft has the weird delete key.
