I just went over to Logitech to see if there have been any updates to a Setpoint, then I noticed there was a new driver.

SetPoint 2.60 Version: 2.60 build 606

To my surprise when I tried to download it, the site came back saying the software was not available. I'm just wondering if this is just a server glitch, or SetPoint has been SetBack, LOL.

Anyone know anything on it?

In the meantime I found 2.60 build 606 at Softpedia for download:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/KEYBOA...OGITECH/Logitech-SetPoint-260606.shtml

Some places I see that this thing is 45MB big and at others it shows for 85MB, HOLY CRAP just for mouse drivers, sheeesh.

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Logitech_SetPoint/1145287886/1

Now does anyone also know what the correct size of these things are suppose to be? I don't get what the heck is with the two different sizes I see floating around.

THANKS

FORGET IT I DIDN'T HAVE COOKIES TURNED ON, LOL, NOW IT WORKS AT LOGITECH TO DOWNLOAD IT. ;)

I had 2.60.595 installed previously, didn't know 2.60.606 was out. The built in updater doesn't detect a new version available either...

But I'm not having any problems downloading the newer driver file manually. I'm getting 400KB/s as a matter of fact.

*download complete*

I'm not going to update the driver unless there is a really good reason to do so. But I will put it in my NAS for next time. Thanks for the tip DasFox.

Ok I just installed SetPoint as I was forced to replace my old MX Duo which used iTouch. I am going to go insane, I have tried and tried to get the mouse foward and back buttons to bind in games but it wont! I don't get why... I never had a issue with iTouch, but iTouch won't work with the new stuff. I know I can assign a key in SetPoint but then my foward and back dont work in browsers.... Is there any way to get this to work?

Since it was only my keyboard that died on my MX Duo I connected my MX700 to my new MX3000 set they replaced it with, and it still won't bind in games. Same exact mouse! Argggg Im going to go crazy.

If I uninstall SetPoint it works fine again and I can bind my mouse buttons again.... install it and boom they wont work again.

I had this problem with my MX1000 and got the buttons to work by setting their assignment to 'Generic Button' in the Setpoint software. I think I got this from AT some time ago, so you might be able to find more complete info if you search for MX1000 (in general hardware, I think)

For my MX518 with setpoint, I have to manually uncheck the two options "keep keypress button assignments" and "Keep other button assignments" before loading up a game. Then I can bind the fwd and bkwd keys in the game control config menu. After playing I go back into the setpoint control panel and check the boxes once again to assign functionality to the two buttons in windows.

Its a royal pain, but I have not found any other way. Once, I alt-tabbed from the game to the desktop and modified the settings, but setpoint got all screwy and refused to assign buttons even in windows after that. Only a reinstall of setpoint solved the problem.

Apart from this major annoyance, I love my MX and setpoint.

I never tried this, but If you designate them as 'generic buttons', what do they do in windows?

I have a G5 mouse and w/ my setpoint software I'm able to set specific settings for specific programs. So I'm able to set them to Generic Button for my games and those settings are only applied to the games I chose. Do you guys not have that option?

Where do i find that option in SP? If i set buttons 3 & 4 as generic, then they work fine in games, but dont do anything in windows. I end up having to reassign them (i use 'paste' for 5 and 'enter' for 4) for use in windows.

Is it only a G5 specific feature? It would be great if i could assign individual profiles for programs.

Hi Martensite

I have assigned my forward, back and scroll click as 'generic buttons'. In my case they all work as they are supposed to in Windows. Your experience seems to indicate that this performance varies from mouse to mouse though. It may be some other setting that I have enabled, but I can't verify this as I'm at work at the moment.

This is funny this thread came up. I am having a very difficult time binding controls w/ certain games w/ setpoint. In FPS games you need L/R to just strafe to the side and you actually look using the mouse. However, when I use the L/R keys in some games it is making me look in that direction....

I tried it once again, and it works as FWD and BKWD in IE when set as generic button. (sorry, my mistake, last time I tried something else.)

I use Opera for browsing, so I am used to the mouse gesture flicks for these functions rather than the side buttons.

But my problem is that I need them as 'paste' and 'enter' in windows (very convenient for me as I use these two functions a lot) and as bindable buttons in games without having to manually uncheck the options boxes listed above every time :(

Check in setpoint 'advanced game settings' section that you program or game is listed in the right hand window under 'recognized games'. Otherwise scroll to that prog/game folder and add the game exe to the list.

Also uncheck the two options mentioned in the posts above, before starting up the game.
