LOL - ironic cause this is probably one of the only wireless mice that comes even close to working quite well for gaming. I just finished Doom3 with it. The Batteries are rechargable with the included basse station.

I tried about four different value priced wireless mice over the past month or two and ended up with the MX700. Excellent mouse.

I'll second the gaming quality of this mouse. I consider myself a power gamer, and it's seen me through BF1942/Vietnam, UT 2003/2004, and Doom3 with no problems. And like MIDIman said, the base station IS the recharger, so just doc the mouse when you go to bed, and you'll never be out of juice.

Oy... I just noticed that *shudder* TigerDirect is selling it for $10 cheaper, so final price would be $29. The rebate is from Logitech, so there shouldn't be any problems there...

I've used this mouse for about 8 months or whenever it first came out. Awesome mouse, I couldn't ask for more. Although the menu button is pretty useless IMO, all the other buttons are placed in great positions and the mouse is as responsive as my old corded logitech. Rechargable batteries = awesome. I wish they had rechargable keyboards too... or do they?

Um, not quite. Before rebate I see:
TD $39.99 + 8.99 s/h ground to MA
Amazon $41.99 with free slow shipping.

Given my personal TD experience in the past, I'd stick with Amazon and save $7.

D*mn you, Hot Deals!!! I already have (and love) this mouse, and now I've spent another $32!

I paid ~$50-55 for my last one, when that was considered a great deal. I guess I'll bring one to work now.

Yeah, I paid $65 for mine when it was a relatively new item and went on sale... Worth every penny. 🙂

It's obvious you've never used this mouse. I would've said the same thing myself, if I didn't use it daily. 😉

You will not be able to tell this mouse is wireless. Literally never had a problem in 1 year of use. Also never had a problem with batteries running out. When the red light starts blinking, I sometimes just keep using it until I'm done with the computer then dock the mouse. Other times I throw it in the dock and go to the bathroom or something and then it's good for another hour at least!

I wouldn't be exaggerating to say this is the best piece of computer hardware I've ever owned. If there's a better mouse on the market, I haven't seen it.[/b]

So to sum up...I like the mouse! 😀😀

Personally have found the charge can last anywhere from two to four days of quite heavy usage, dependent on the type of batteries used.

actually i have tried my friend's mx700, and i'd rather get a mx510. Reason? Higher [ edit: image processing], and not as heavy since it dosn't need batteries. I don't really care about the wireless thing, I can live without it.

Resolution is the same for both models in question. 800dpi.

sorry, i mean Image Processing or w/e it's called.

Seriously the weight of having a cable makes getting a wireless mouse worth it. You don't really realize how convenient it is to not have a cable until you start using this all the time and switch back to a regular mouse.

I've had my MX700 for 2-3 years now. It's a great mouse except that the contacts between the charger and mouse have basically worn away to the point where the charger cannot detect the docked mouse anymore. Basically I have to go ghetto and take the batteries out and manually recharge them myself....

In addition, I've noticed that my mouse is starting to drift. The cursor will continuously drift in one direction every now and then even when I don't have my hand on the mouse.

maybe it's time for a new one.....

This may sound funny, if you often misplace your tv remote, you don't want this. Dad and I spent lots of time looking for this dxmn thing, rather comical.

this is true..

I have had it since it came out in September/October 2002 and the contacts are wearing out so i have to like press the mouse on the charger and toy with it.

AH, I did forget about this. It was quite annoying until I taped two little pieces of aluminum foil over each contact on the cradle. Now it charges happily again.

They definitely need to update that on the next version of this mouse.

Is your computer set up somewhere other than a desk? I can't figure out why you'd carry the mouse away from your desk?
