Np, actually, I wouldn't use the PS/2 adapter for the MX700 if you can spare a USB port. It does come with a PS/2 Adapter, but I think I read somewhere that the MX engine can actually take advantage of the extra USB bandwidth (40hz compared to ~120hz).

probably depends if the drivers still have ps2 refresh slider. previous logitech mice have had ps2 sliders from 40-200hz, better then usb. i think the jumps were from 100 to 200, not sure if theres a 120hz like usb though. so either u could get higher, the same or lower using ps2 if theres a hz slider:p

Sorry - new here...but can you PM this with Staples and just get this for 42.99? Maybe a coupon code (-$10) and hope that they don't give u trouble for the coupon code? I dunno. Let me know.

Amazon is one of the few "respectable" online retailers that Staples won't PM.

The buttons above and below the wheel lose functionality, but they weren't(for many people, at least) very useful before, anyway.

I actually find those buttons quite usefull.. The new MouseWare addresses the wheel problems. If you don't game, theres no reason not to install the newest MouseWare so you can fully use the features of this mouse.

Mine just shipped today. It says that I should have it in 5-9 days. They are usually pretty quick about shipping.

Can you help me find the $5 off code for the Linksys mx700 on Amazon. Everyone seems to know where it is. I don't see it. Is there something wrong with pasting a link to it? What about just tell everyone step by step how to find it?

Staples is always a YMMV with PM'ing Amazon. Its not worth the effort. I've gotten about 5 different excuses from them, saying anything from "Amazon says they have it in stock, but they don't so we won't PM" to "the next day shipping we give will cost you $15" to "Our physical stores don't price match Amazon b/c they do not have physical stores". They've also given me the excuse that Amazon is a discount warehouse, like Sam's or Costco, so no go on the PM.

If you really want the item today and don't feel like waiting, there are some creative ways of having it in your hand today and still paying what you would have at Amazon.

If you want something done you got to do it for your self. This usually is not true for me but this may be my first exception.

In response to all of you who are looking for the $5 off promo code...
I was looking everywhere and just when I was about to give up I found one!

You will be able to find a code on google for $5 off a $35 purchase if you search long enough on google.

Hope this helps some of you out. I know I was pulling my hair out.

Btw: does PM stand for Price Match?

Also: I plan on having 2 of these in the same room, does anyone know if they will interfere with one another? What if some day I'm in a room with 50 of them or more... Laugh now but that day is coming.

Cheers: Zoboomafoo :)

Form what I can tell I'm not suppose to post the actual promo code on here, please if you have the time, explain to me why.
Perhaps it is best to read the rules before joining and posting. Notice particularly the section titled What about COUPONS and PROMOTIONAL CODES?.

I did read the rules! I just don't understand them entirely.

Let me take a shot at this....

If the web site has just the code but nothing else I cannot share it?
But if the code is inside of a coupon that dose not have any restrictions on it I can sharing it.

I'm I correct?

Now my question was why don't we just post promo codes if they help everyone out? I mean it took me over an hour to find that $5 coupon code. I'm OVIOUSLY new to this but is there something wrong with using these promo code that are not printed on a coupon or on the vendors site?
Please let me know why. Thanks for helping me out!

BTW: I ordered my mx700 today and look forward to getting it. Thanks for THAT post.

Also, I was told these mice don't not work under florescent lights. Does anyone know if this is true?

One other thought; in the rules of the promo it states at the bottom "The offer may not be combined with any other promotions" dose this mean that by using the $5 promo we are negating the MIR? Let me know what u guys think?

Whats the best deal for this? Looks like amazon.com has raised their price to $68.99 effectively making it $48.99 after $20 rebate. Thats $11 more than the topic deal. And I dont see and $5 coupons anywhere that work. Are there any better deals for than other than $48.99 shipped?

"If you don't game" meaning mouseware won't work in games?

Dose any one know if we can use the $5 promo code with this rebate? It says on it "This offer may not be combined with any other promotion."

Thanks drewdogg808 for the link.

Zobo out.

wow, lol, this is unusual, the #1 thing I hear complained about on these mice is that they are so damn big

I got big hands also so they fit just right. I currently have the iFeel mouse, and that is just a little too small that it makes it just a little bit uncomfortable to use for long periods.

I'm using mine right now. I'm used to the Mouseman Cordless Optical. I had the blue one originally and then I got the silver and gray one with the Freedom Optical Cordless Desktop (same mouse, different colors).

I always thought that the Mouseman was sort of tall and when I switched to the Belkin gel wrist wrest mouse pad, I thought that the combo was nearly perfect. Now.. I'm not sure with this MX700 because it sits lower than the Mouseman did. I just doesn't feel as comfortable with my favorite wrist wrest mouse pad now.

My weird comfort thing aside, I think this mouse is great! It tracks beautifully, especially with the newest mouseware. For those who say that their mouse works great without the mouseware software have got to be nuts. In my experience, every cordless optical mouse that I've tried without Logitech's software acts strange. The movement is way too sensitive for me too without the software.

Anyway.. I love the precision of movement. I love the precision of the scroll wheel with the buttons to scroll really fast at either side of the scroll wheel. What I really, really love is the charger stand! That's what really made me dislike my mouseman mice. The damn things ate batteries and it really went through a charged NIMH fast too, so I was always charging the batteries so it seemed. This new mouse must be designed for rechargeable batteries because it charges so fast and they seem to work a lot longer than when they were in my Mouseman mouse. I even had 1800 MAH batteries in my Mouseman and these are 1700 MAH NiMH's. It must be the power management design.

Well.. Thanks for the deal! As good as this mouse is, I don't think I'd buy it for anywhere near $70 since I had my mouseman, but at $38 after rebates, this is a killer deal!

If you do the in-store pick-up option on this, do you still get the rebate? It's $1 more to pick it up at CC, but you could get it same day and avoid shipping charges. I just don't know if this qualifies for the rebate. Technically, it should - because it was purchased at amazon, just delivered thru CC..

Anyone else done this?
