Both mice are roughly the same length with somewhat the same design. However, the MX 500 has a much sleeker feel to it than the MX 700 does. Because of the MX 700s wireless capability the mouse is bulkier and you can see it and feel it in the mouse itself. For young gamers and gamers with smaller hands, this is a very big swaying point as to which mouse to buy.

The charging lasts an estimated seven to eight hours, but when you are working on a computer most of the day and into the night like many hardcore computer users are, charging your mouse gets to be a pain.

bah, its not nearly that short of time. on a full charge, i go a week without charging, and thats with 4 or 5 hours a day.

This is the problem I`ve seen with many MX700 reviews,they all give different opinions on the battery life of the MX700 before recharging is needed,from hours to days,it does make it confusing for the potential buyer.

i do use the MX700 also and yeah although i dont go like more than a max of a day without charging..i know it will easily work for at least 3-4 days..and this is like approx 6-8hours of use everyday.

When I first got my MX700, batteries lasted about 5-6 hours of constant use before they needed to be recharged. The batteries went like this for about 2 weeks, and then they started to let it go longer and longer. The batteries probably have to be broken in a few cycles before they can top off a charge. now I can get at least 16 hours of usage out of it (usually 8 hours a day at work, 2 days in a row, and then I charge it. Could probably go more even)

It's a NiMh battery so you don't have to worry about battery-memory effect. My recharger base is within arms reach so when i'm done with it I just put it back on. Not hard to do. I've never run out of charge and i've used it consistently for 4-5 hours at a time. I love the mouse.

I replaced mine with duacell rechargable, I use the other set in my Logitech Freedom Force 2.4 gig joystick.
I use mine all day with no problem.

I am very pleased with my MX700

It was a little heavy at first but after you get used to the extra weight, the mouse is great

I'd much rather save $30 and not have to deal with recharging. That's what I did . MX700 isn't worth it IMO when you can just get an MX500...

I can imagine fragging and then my mouse batteries start to die and I'm screwed! Ah! Noooo!!!

I got my MX700 for $35 after pricingmatching Staples to OfficeMax, using a coupon, and a $10 MIR. Recharging is a non-issue b/c whenever the mouse is not in use, I stick it in the charger instead of leaving it on the mouse pad. Even a weetahd can do it I've NEVER had in issue with it dying in the middle of use.

If recharging IS an issue for someone, they need to seek professional help. Also, no wires = BIG PLUS.

I have an mx500 but i would have liked the mx700 just as much. the feel of these mice are awsome.

the asspect of recharging wouldn't bother me as much as a cord getting in the way. I have missed many-o-frags because of my cord not letting me move my mouse in the right possition.

mx500, or mx700, it doesn't matter it's all about preferance.

I replaced the original batteries with 1800mah ones and can go about 4 days without recharging. I can never remember to put it in it's cradle a night so I end up getting the low batt popup (which hangs the computer). I'm willing to live with this inconvenience because other than this, it's a great mouse. Those who don't like it should just can it and get one they're happy with. Life's too short to loose sleep over a mouse.

I have the I touch combo from logitech, not rechargable is good, i only change batteries every 3-4 weeks. and i'm on computer 13-15 hours a day

I've already got a Logitech cordless iTouch keyboard. But my little old optical mouseman is showing its age as well as its butt.

I have to go with an optical for sure. Yes, the cord gets in my way. So I'd also like to go "cordless".

MX 700 user question...

Does the MX 700 have the same general shape/feel of the other "Mouseman" versions? It's hard to tell from the pics I've seen.

unless you don't sleep, i don't see how a mx700 would run out of batteries


cords bug me, seem to add a dragging feeling, even if you make sure theres some slack.
