Just got my Logitech MX700 from newegg, $65 Shipped. Only been using it for the past couple hours, so far I love the mouse. Only draw back is getting used to the weight of the damn thing, Playing Battlefield 1942, I'm finding that my sniper attempts take ALOT more effort, only for the fact that the mouse is heavier to move, so it takes extra care to move it the minor amounts needed to move your scope just a hair instead of having it fly across the screen... Only other bad thing is If you game, you can't install the software for it :( unless you want to end task on the aplication for it everytime before you enter a game. The Logitech registry patch for there wheel problem in games does not seem to work on this particular mouse. But also that reg hack is listed as being for 98 and ME... so maybe my xp won't take it. but I had to try. So since I game ALOT, I just opted not to install the mousewre software, so I don't get the cool special features of all the buttons.. oh well, sacrifices had to be made in the name of gaming and convenience lol.

So on a scale of 1-10, I give it an 8. If it would glide as niceley across my mousing surface as the logitech corded mouse it replaced it would bump the score up too a 9, and if I could use the software that came with it, AND play games without having to kill the software in the background, it would be a perfect 10.

I bought that mouse, but then returned it for the mx500 (corded version). So far wireless mice haven't impressed me. I actually prefer the mouse without the Logitech software installed. I can use all the buttons except for the "alt+tab" button, which is in a bad place anyways. I'm playing NOLF2, and buttons work great!

Honestly now that I have fully gotten used to it, I will go ahead and bump my rating up to a 9 hehe, I still don't like the fact that I can't use there software without killing the wheel functioni, and that there supposed fixes on there website don't work for it. So still, without software, the mouse is worth every penny I payed. No lack of response. Heck. I even use it kinda under my desk, with the reciever on top of my desk (I have a sliding shelf for key and mouse) that puts a 2 inch thick piece of hard wood between them, and it still works great.. no lack of repsonse, no sluggishness like I thought there might be since it is wireless... I'm perfectly satisfied with my purchase. for both the performance reasons, and aesthetic reasons I got it.

I paired this mouse with the logitech elite wired keyboard, so that they match my case :) if your interested in what my case looks like, check my rigs.

Turn off scroll in MouseWare and turn on scroll with TweakUI... fixes the scroll lag and probably games too.

no scroll lag here, and I've already set it for MS scroll in the software. I don't like using tweak UI. So that option I am not even going to go with ;). I have NEVER had any kind of scroll lag in any game hehe, so that is not something I need to fix :) I just won't use the mouseman software, IMHO it's not all that great anyhow, the mouse functions just fine with windows built in drivers, and my scroll works in games with NO reg hack.

I'm taking a break from Logitech, I haven't had a mouse for the last month because the tracking on my usb Mouseman optical was so unreliable, and locked up so frequently, that I could barely use it. I thought there was something wrong with my system, and although I later tracked down other instabilities to the motherboard, it turns out my mouse had gone bad as well. I picked up a Microsoft PS/2 wheel mouse to last me until the next hot deal shows up. The problem is, I _like_ Logitech mice! The MS Explorer line is comfortable, but it feels so cheaply made. Oh well...

I just bought the mx700. It is definitely better than previous wireless mice, but my dual optical is still more precise & smoother. The mx700 is going back tomorrow

If you use the mouseman software then you lose mousewheel abilities in games

I love this mouse. I've always wanted to go cordless, but the idea of having to replace batteries or having to remind yourself to have a set of rechargables on hand was a turn off; this mouse deals with that situation perfectly! I upgraded from the original Logitech Mouseman Optical, the big blue one with the cool blue LED. What ever driver I used with that one I always had the same problem, a jittering mouse pointer, which annoyed the hell out of me. After plugging in the USB connector and the power cord the jitters were gone, HALLELUJAH! I did encounter the problem of the mouse wheel not working in games, but after reading a replies in several newgroups I fixed the situation (turning off the scroll wheel in the Logitech driver and turing it on in the TweakUI applet).

Others have said that this mouse is much heavier than other mice, sure it is, it's cordless and there are two batteries inside! This is my first cordless mouse but I soon got used to the added heft in a few hours. I do like the smaller size of the mx700 over the Mouseman Wheel Optical.

Top marks to Logitech for producing a great mouse.

I have the MX700 and I must say that I love it. I went from the Cordless optical mouseman (i think thats the name... its the one that came w/ the black cordless desktop) and I must say that it is much much better. Just the smoothness of the mouse is worth the upgrade.

How are the left and right buttons because I do not see any in the pictures. I'm taking it that it is touch sensitive or is it just hidden and cannot be seen from pictures?

I currently have the Logitech Dual Optical and have been considering the MX700. Can't seem to justify the $65 though since my Dual Optical works so well.

You can fix the scroll wheel in games by deactivating the scrolling in the mouse software (blue selecting NONE in the scroll lines selector) and install TweakUI. Works like a charm for BF 1942 and it should for all games.

That`s only true for the new MX models,Logitech are supposed to be fixing this in the next Mouseware update.
