Logitech MX500- Good for gaming?

I always found the thumb buttons to be pretty useful in some games, especially in counter-strike; great for walking.
 
I think the whole argument of wireless lag comes from the fact that some mice shut down after 5-10 seconds to conserve battery life. It takes a little movement to "wake" it back up. So in that regard, there is some lag to all wireless mice. Plus batteries are a pain, and the off chance that the mouse gets lost because there's no wire...I'd recommend the MX510, although really any optical mouse is just as good as another.
 
i doubt most gamers would need the performance of the razer, but some people want the best possible or they just like the looks or feel.
 
Razer technically has better specs, but to me it's uncomfortable as hell and I've never noticed a difference. I'm plenty happy with my MX500.
