Logitech MX1000

Welllllllll so I had a $100 store credit to staples and was walking around and was like hmm what can I blow this on.... So I saw the mouse and was like okay fine, I just read a bunch of reviews on it and a few people recommended it on here, so I said F it...

Now that I'm using it, I really cant get used to it and can't find a comfortable enough setting for normal desktop use or gaming. I have a habit of picking up the mouse and this ones too heavy to do that, plus you cant set a show/hide desktop function on the mouse (which i use like crazy) like my other one did.

As far as accuracy and whatnot, the thing is dead on and fast, but I just cant adjust..... tear.tear....

Anyone else have similar problems? or know how to run show/hide desktop on a button?
I don't feel like repacking this thing but I think I'm gonna have to.

Any other mice you recommend? wireless isn't a must, I just got it because I heard this wireless system was the best.

blackinches has one and loves it. blackinches finds it very comfortable, because of the high arch like ms mice. at first blackinches was not used to the weight either, but after a while you get used to it, and all other mice feel too light.

also i find the click buttons to be so much harder than im used to its like ahhhhh press already!

do they soften up in time?

Talking in the third person is not cool.

And... on to the op's question.

I would take it back. After playing with a light mouse myself I had a few before I decided on the logitec intellimouse explorer 4.0. It has a similar design as the mx1000 but without the annoying place for your thumb. And it is very light.

Basicly, don't change your gaming style to fit your mouse, buy a mouse that will fit your gaming style.

MX1000 is too heavy? Yeah, you should've bought one of those 1 oz. corded notebook optical mice.

1) Well, at least he's not some whack job on another forum who thinks he's duffman from simpsons, and people actually encourages him. WTF.

2) Since when did Logitech start making IntelliMouse Explorers for MS?

Mice are a matter of personal preference. Several of my friends like small mice, while several others prefer the larger mice. The most comfortable mouse I've used in a long time has been the small/medium sized Logitech MX300, it fits me perfectly. I also have a sweet MX900 bluetooth mouse that I sometimes use with my PowerBook. It's much larger and has more buttons which can be handy, but it's not as comfortable for me to use than the smaller mice.

Like cawchy87 said, "don't change your gaming style to fit your mouse, buy a mouse that will fit your gaming style".

k thanks guys, its going back

ah, there goes that idea. I returned my Brother MFC-420CN multifunction printer and now I have $150 in store credit. I was wandering around last night trying to find something cool but I decided to wait. I read the reviews of the other multifunctions available there but they all get like 2 1/2 to 3 stars on Amazon, lol. Seems even the HP ones are trash. The MX1000 looked pretty neat, but I've never seen so many positive and negative reviews over a Logitech mouse before. I think I'll stick with my MX510. All of the Canon A75 cameras were out of stock too, dangit!

Take that third person talk elsewhere. I mean if your mentally handicapped then I can understand but if not then consider this your final warning. Put on your flamesuit next time you choose to talk that way.

Its not so much that its negative, its just that its not for me. I think everyone needs to physically use it on a working computer or game first before reading a review and buying it.

I played with it on the counter with 20 other mice and it felt good, but using it on a working computer is totally different than it tied down by cable to a counter top.

I would tell you to get bent, but I see that its no use.

Why do you continue to talk in third person?

i think it's a great mouse. I've had it for about a month and a half now. No real problem with gaming for myself. I have heard that when you pick it up and put it back down it takes a sec to work again, but i haven't noticed anything in Unreal Tournament 04, and it's one of the fastest games there is.

What do u mean next time? He's done that all along.

And BTW, why the heck does it bother u guys so much...holy crap, dont get ur panties in a bundle...

Hmm, fixxxer0...

I think your problem can be solved by opening up your SetPoint software, click the "Mouse Movement" tab and underneath "Pointer Speed" drag it up closer to the "Fast" setting. You'll find yourself picking up your mouse less often; unfortunately, you'll also have to learn better control of your movement... especially in FPSes.

Rofl, I can't believe you guys are getting so worked up about this 3rd person talk. I bet blackinches is having a good old laugh about it.

just to clear things up, when i was posting, i was hating blackinches for talking in the 3rd person, frankly i find it hilarious.
