Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse

I have the MX700 for a long time and I like it. Is there a reason to upgrade to the MX1000? Is there a noticeable difference using a laser mouse than a good optical mouse?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no.
BTW, I'm content w/ my MX500.

Yes definitely
I went from the MX700 to the MX1000, waaay better mouse
First and most importantly, the MX1000 is boatloads lighter
Secondly, the battery life lasts like 5 times longer
Third, the ergonomics is way better

The tracking feels the same. I wouldn't buy it for more "precision". That's just marketing hype IMO.

You can call logitech and tell them your mx700 is broken and they will just need some of the codes on the bottem of the mouse and they send you a free mx1000.

But you really should just do this if it's really broken since their support pwns and I speak from personal experiance, and 3 year warrenty on a mouse that they stop making and send you a upgrade version just owns even more.

It's pretty good, but you might nock like it if you pick your mouse up a lot when you're using it.

Otherwise I find it more comfortable than the mx700, and the battery lasts longer. Other than that the movement seems about the same to me.

Any cordless = lag in FPSer's to me.
Otherwise, upgrade away, I sold mind to get a Diamondback and thoroughly enjoy it.

Yup.

Wireless mice NOT for gaming.

Heck, I don't even do much gaming anymore and I still wouldn't use one. Photoshop work is a LOT easier on a 1000hz report rate mouse (wireless limited to 125hz), and the 1600dpi the Diamondback or Logitech MX518 offers (vs 800dpi for wireless mice) makes it worth it.

I'm surprised by the responses here. When it came out very few people got decent mice when the bought them so I wrote it off as a product to avoid.

Seems logitech got its act together since then. Do they make a corded version of it?
