monarchcomputer.com has it for $69 shipped (avoids tax for me (California)). Any chance OD will PM to MC on MXD?

Just in case there is interest, the Staples sale that begins May 9th will feature the "Logitech® cordless MX duo" for $59.94, no rebates involved. Regular price at Staples appears to be $99.99.

Link to such sale found here

Any thoughts how I could order this keyboard without being in the Brooklyn mailing area? My local flyer for Staples upcoming deals has a Microsoft keyboard as a substitute for the Logitech product.

Thanks for the info on the Staples ad Actuary Tim. I may have to go pre-buy tomorrow and then stick my Elite Duo up on FS/FT.

And my wife just brought home a Staples $10 off coupon today, which theoretically can't be used because the small print on the back says it can be used only "if no other coupon or instant savings applies," but is worth a try anyway just in case the cashier doesn't feel like reading the fine print and the register hasn't been programmed to catch it (as is frequently the case).

The prodcut page online says:

Special buy! Save $40!
Reg. $99.98, now $69.94.
Then use $10 coupon code 53903 at checkout. Offers valid 5/9/04-5/15/04 only.

This was with a Manhattan zip...should be the same in Brooklyn...

About the best cordless combo you can get, and it can't be beat for this price. IMHO, the logitech keyboards and mice are a lot better than any of the competing brands. The Microsoft products have their advocates, but I just don't like the way their mice feel. The buttons feel too mushy and for some reason they always put on a smooth scrolling wheel on the mouse that sucks for FPS games that use the scroll wheel for weapon select as opposed to the logitech wheel that scrolls in increments.

If you need Bluetooth, Logitech has a version that uses the MX900 mouse (the receiver can be used to connect to other Bluetooth devices) but I haven't seen any good deals on that version yet. There's also the DiNovo that they make as well, which has number pad that detaches to act as a media player remote that is nice if you have a HTPC, but otherwise the DiNovo is a bit on the expensive side at $250.

Oh yea - the batteries in the mouse won't last the same 30 days that they did in the intellimouse but it comes with a pair of NiMh that recharge in a handy cradle. The two AA alkalines in the keyboard have lasted me since xmas...I keep waiting for them to expire but it's still going strong...

You can always switch out the included batteries, since they are basic AA rechargables and not anything exotic like a lithium polymer pack. My wife bought the MX Duo for her work computer and bumping up the included batteries to some higher capacity 2100mAH cells extended the mouse's time between charges a lot.
