Logitech MX 610 Laser Cordless @ Buy $19 AR

I should get a couple of these, modify them and attach them to some sharks.

Sharks with freaking laser beams!

$19.99 shipped after rebate seems a great deal to me for this great-reviewed mouse. I'm in--I've been needing a new mouse anyway.

This may count as thread crapping. But, that is not my intention. I am just curious.

I only use my mouse when I work on the computer, in which case I am pretty close to the computer. Why would I need a cordless mouse?

If you wonder why you need a wireless mouse, you dont need it.

Most people who use wireless mice are of two groups:

A) cables limit their usage pattern: they sit slightly farther from the computer, or they mouse with the left hand and the cpu is on the right, or they have serious cable tangle and they are simply trying to reduce.

B) they are gamers. Mousecord weight seriously affects the accuracy of mouse movement by adding inadvertant tugs and a directional pull to the cord. The weight of the cord itself, hanging off the end of the desk or otherwise, becomes an annoyance that the gamer finds him/herself constantly correcting for. Eventually, it becomes so annoying that he opts for a wireless mouse. For gamers its sort of like getting a serious plastic or glass mousepad. The friction from the mousepad messed them up, so they cut that issue out of the loop. Same deal with the cords.

Ordered one to replace my aging Intellimouse Explorer 3.0A with flaky buttons. I must say, it's an elegant looking mouse. It also seems to have inherent advantages over other optical mice such as 2.4Ghz and the fact that it's actually cordless unlike most other cordless optical mice that has cords on the receiver.

Found an indepth review on the Logitech here.

I plan to put my computer across the room underneath my TV. I plan to run a 15 ft. DVI cable so I can still use a normal LCD monitor from my desk, but my keyboard and mice will be cordless.

Plus, as you mentioned, having a cordless keyboard and mouse really helps to clean up cable clutter.

I agree with Minotaar, i didn't spend 90 dollars on a mouse for no reason. I bought the Logitech g7 wireless laser mouse with 2000 dpi res and 2 hot swappable rechargeable batteries and some people think I am a freak for it but it was deff made for gaming and i wouldn't have any other mouse. If you don't know why then you will have no need for anything of the like that and thats fine, you prob have other stuff that I would feel wouldn't be needed.
