Logitech MX 1000 interference - *solved*

I'm having a rather unfortunate problem with my wireless mouse and keyboard choices. I've been using the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro combo for the last few months without any problems. I really like the keyboard, but the mouse is quite unsuitable for gaming.

So I just purchased and installed the MX1000. Love the feel and responsiveness of the mouse, but I quickly found that if I'm typing and pointing at the same time, the keyboard signal drops out. For example, if I'm holding down the "X" key in Word so it prints xxxxxxxxxx..., the line stops typing as soon as I move the mouse (although the mouse signal appears to be unimpeded).

I did find that if I put the MS receiver right next to the keyboard, the problem is reduced, but I still get occasional dropouts.

Anyone know of any fixes, or am I pretty much stuck with the interference? Is there a way to change channel/freq or even reduce the mouse transmit power?

Thanks!

D'oh! Of course I solved it just after I posted. I tried changing the channel on the mouse, and it didn't work. However, I didn't realize the keyboard also had a channel selector. I found it, changed it, and that did the trick!

Hey, I'm having almost the same exact problem, except my keyboard is the Microsoft Wireless Comfort. The best I have been able to do is place the two recieivers as far away as possiblem but they still interefere every so often.

How do you change the channel on the mouse or they keyboard? I know there are buttons on the recivier for the keyboard and the bottom of the keyboard itself, but those don't really seem to do anything.
