Too bad the MX1000 reciever doesn't support using a wireless keyboard with it, but an awesome deal for someone looking to upgrade to a nice mouse.

Very hot. I love my MX1000, and Staples' Easy Rebates are probably the only rebates in the industry that I trust completely.

Just a note on the MX1000: Many people have a problem with erratic cursor jumping when the base is plugged into a USB port. I personally had this problem, and had to switch to PS2 for it to work properly. Mine is 3-4 months old though, and newer builds may have fixed this problem. BUt, if you have an erratic cursor (it might suddenly jump from the bottom of the screen to the top), switch to the ps2 port. It's still the best mouse I've ever owned. Mine will stay charged nearly a week of fairly heavy use!

is it a lot better than the MX510?

I'm in the dark about mice. As long as it's optical and has plenty of buttons I've never had a problem :D

Now we just need to find a place to pricematch too. :)

You should go to a store like bestbuy or staples instore to test how it feels because the mouse is different. Its alot "bigger". Id make sure you like how it feels first. Because the mx510 and mx1000 differ alot.

It is heavier than the 510, and if you have big hands, this is a better shaped mouse with its extension on the thumb section.

It is wireless, but gaming on it seems just as good as the 510.

My son has been using a Logitech wireless keyboard ever since I bought him the MX1000 months ago. Can you elaborate?

He meant that MX1000 receiver works only with MX1000 mouse, if you gonna use a wireless keyboard, that keyboard must have its own receiver.

Tigerdirect has it for $65. If you happen to have tigerdirect outlet store near you, you can probably save another $15. Although the chances of that are pretty slim, AFAIK there are only 2 or 3 tigerdirect stores in the whole 50 states. BTW couple of months ago Tigerdirect had mx1000 for $50 no rebates, would have been hot if they still had it, I'm sure someone could have scored the mouse for $10 AR, lol

Personally I don't like MX1000, the buttons are too hard to click and it's way too heavy, the weight is also distributed very unevenly with most of the weight at the talk section of the mouse which makes it swerve whenever I move it.

Read some reviews that the MX510 beats this as a gaming mouse because of the wireless lag? Is that true?

I'm torn between this great deal and the MX518 going for $39 shipped at Monarch . I think Monarch bumped the price down in response to Amazon's sale price of 38.94 shipped.

But Amazon raised the price back up today and I'm worried that Monarch will follow suit.

Can't be that bad to have both...can it :D?

I just got the ad emailed to me by Staples and no MX1000 on page 5 (it was listed as being on page 5 in another thread) or in the rest of the flyer. There goes my plans for today....

EDIT: My bad. It doesn't make sense. I get an email from Staples this am and it has a link that says, and I quote, "This Sunday's Circular". Clicked the link and went to page 5. No mouse. Well, it turns out it is this week's circular, not next weeks. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks to allisolm for pointing it out.

I believe the coupon would only work if you added 15 dollars worth of stuff to your order. Right? You pay 60 OTD not 80.

You'll need a $5 filler to use the coupon.

Actually that's 15. 60 (what you pay for mouse) +15=75
