Logitech Mouseman Cordless Optical problem

Hi, I have the mouse mentioned in the title of this thread. I've had it for about a month, but now it starts acting weird. It constantly turns itself off, so that i have to push that little connect button located under the mouse. Is that a typical sign of the batteries starting to get bad or...? Think it's weird though. Arent the batteries supposed to last for bout 2-3 months ?

Thx in advance.

When my batteries are going dead, the cursor gets really irratic. Usually I change the batteries long before it shuts itself off though. It's hard to say, but I would try changing the batteries.

As far as battery life, I've gotten a mixed bag. Sometimes they last a couple of months, but lately they've only been averaging a month. I've switched to rechargeable batteries because of this. I would consider it a must because you'll go through a lot of batteries if you don't. Just pick up a 4 pack of NIMH "AA"s and a good charger and then you can alternate the batteries in your mouse. I think Newegg is selling the Maha charger now (great charger).

I know that battery consumption is a PITA, but I think it's well worth not having to deal with the cord, especially with the way I have mine setup. The cord was always dragging and getting caught up. That's more frustrating in a different way.

Roger dude! thanks for the help. I'll buy some rechargeable batteries and alternate when needed. Do you have a cordless keyboard too? cuz I havent had any problems with that so far. maybe it's because i dont use the keyboard as much as im using the mouse. BTW, are you sure i can use rechargeable batteries in my mouse ?

I strickly use Energizer ACCU rechargable batteries in my Logitech Optical, they work great., and always a spare set to go in.

Any idea how much the batteries and charger cost ? Because these arent the regular nickel-cadmium batteries.
