Logitech mouse problem...well kinda...its more of an annoyance...

My brother got a Mouse for his pc i just build him a few days ago.

Its a Ps2 (not the console ) Optical mouse.

However, if he touches it the computer turns on...even if it off.

I searched through windoze and cannot find a way to turn it off. I checked the mouse area countless times to no avail.

Can anyone help? He hates the computer turning on at the slightest touch on the desk (especially when he is doing homework)

The computer is set to wake on PS/2. This is like wake on LAN or wake on modem, only it's caused by any input from the mouse. Check the BIOS to see if the computer is set to wake on any peripherals that you don't want it to wake on.

Trust me, it is not cool.

I came back from school today and my mom went into his room to clean up his desk. She touched the mouse (she didn't even click!) and it turned on.

She thought it was a ghost or seomtehing Kinda funny initially but it gets REALLY stupid quick

Ditto, but my UPS wouldn't let that happen if it's already turned off.

yup...go to bios and change it to no wake on anything...you can also make your keyboard turn on your computer...it's all depend on your bios
