Does anyone know if the blue is matte and the silver is hard plastic?

There's no silver on an M510? The main blue/sapphire body is glossy hard plastic.

I have a blue one thats matte, but the silver one on display was glossy. BUT the silver in the packaging looked like it might be matte lol. Maybe ill just buy it and check it out...

I thought the MX510 was either blue or red. I never saw a silver one. AFAIK, all of them have been glossy (MX500, MX510, MX518).

Maybe ill just buy it and check it out...

Why, exactly? Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy hard mouse feet for a newer mouse (that's the only real advantage of the MX510 over new ones, TMK)?
