Logitech LX7 Mouse Driver Issues

I'm using a Logitech Cordless Desktop keyboard/media remote with an LX7 Cordless Optical mouse. The combo came originally with an LX5 mouse, but the LX7 works with the same receiver...

The problem I'm having happens with EITHER mouse, the LX5 or the LX7... The mouse basically goes "vanilla" on me randomly. By this, I mean, the back/forward buttons cease to respond, as well is the wheel click no longer functions. Basically, it turns into a very basic mouse with two buttons and a wheel.

Setpoint still shows the buttons as configured properly when this happens, and still recognizes the mouse. Rebooting sometimes fixes the problem, yet other times it comes up from reboot with the problem already present... Other times, the buttons will start working properly on their own without rebooting. Unplugging the receiver and plugging it back in does not help.

I'm using Vista 32 bit, and the newest Logitech Setpoint Drivers. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there any way to prevent this from happening - or get the enhanced mouse functionality back when it does?
